WOW....Congrats Solar Messimo....I mean Solar Gio, I had the displeasure of watching two games only to see your guest 03 provide 90% of your offense. $100 says you'll lose players over that one.

Congrats to Kenny for putting together a great soccer team. You have done a great job!! Just have a question and honestly not trying to stir the pot but I was wondering as I was sitting out on the back porch the other night looking over my back forty. Did Fever use any guest players this weekend? This ole county boy just wants to know.

Fever did not use a single guest player.

I don't want to start any "drama", but I do want to set the record straight regarding the "03 guest player". 

First and foremost, she is an amazing player, possible a future USA player. Yes I do think she's that good. My opinion.

Now regarding her being 90% of Solar Gio, let's see........Gio scored 16 goals this weekend and she scored 3 of them. 

Does she help, yes she does of course I would be lying if I said no. Was she with Gio the last 4 tournaments they've entered and won, no. 

Now I don't pretend to be an expert in soccer, all this is just my opinion. This forum is just for that, a parents opinion on soccer nothing else right?

What I don't understand is why go on here (first time poster of course) and downgrade a U10 teams win??? I'm sure people will come back and give reasons why they do it. But again it's my opinion and I personally would never downgrade a U10 win, why??? It makes no sense, I am not gaining anything from putting down a 10 year old girl's win. No matter how bad I feel about their "wins" they are out there all weekend long push as hard as they can, I just couldn't do it. 

The problem is this: guests can either help or hurt your team. Fever plays without help and comes in 2nd and goes home kind of happy. Many people invite guests hoping they will join and thats legit. But a 03 kid can't join an 02 team in the first year of select soccer. So when Solar Gio invites the 03 Missimo player its purely to improve the chances of winning. That kinda sucks.

I believe Solar scored 19 goals. If the guest scored 3, that is approximately 15%.

You are making assumptions. Maybe she asked if she could play with them. Just a thought.

I don't think we have 2 #20's. I think we may have 2 #3's though. The reason for this is one of the #3's was promoted from the white team about a year ago and Fever was just going to wait to get new uniform kits once the girls go select. That is also why the shorts and tops are getting a little small.

As far as I know Fever has never been an abuser of the guest loop hole.

And I would just like to say that it was fun watching the 03 #10 play. She is exciting to watch and she has always been one heck of a player. Whether she scored 3 goals, 6 goals or all 16 goals, it doesn't really matter. She is more than a goal scorer. She interrupted plenty of attacks by filling the middle and played several opportunistic, clever balls during the game. Whether she is actually part of the team come qualifying, who knows? But again, it doesn't matter. The score was 2 to 1 Gio and it was a great game.

Makes perfect sense. I forgot that Fever white might have another jersey color besides white. lol

Does it really matter who won or how they won at U10 soccer? You dd's won't remember this win/lose in 5yrs or so. What they will remember is their run for State Cup or High School championship games.

Let them have fun and don't get worked up into a frenzy over wins/loses just yet. In a few years when it really starts to matter then freak out.

To set the record straight - Solar Gio scored 19 total goals(3 vs Sting Goodman, 4 vs Waco Lady Blast, 7 vs Solar Barnes, 3 vs D'Feeters and 2 vs Fever) this weekend of which 3 were scored by '03 guest player. Guest player would have helped any team but to say 1 player wins or loses a game/tournament is ridiculous. Solar as an organization is lucky to have her. Solar Gio has won the last 4 tournaments they have entered without her. We did not seek out this player, she asked us and we said yes.

Coollikethatsoccermom - thanks for the compliments about our girls. As one of the parents there, I know how excited they were to make the semi's! We have not done well in pool play but have still made the semi's in our last few tournaments and won as the girls seem to turn it on then! Good luck to your team!

tmcc - you did have 2 #20's on the field. Probably just a mistake. I know both girls but I know for a fact they were not guest players. Great game by your team - much tougher than I expected! Penn has done a great job!

Obviously I am a Solar Gio parent and 1st time poster. My daughter has been with a couple of teams and is having a blast playing with Solar Gio. They are a great group of girls and parents! We have fun and enjoy watching our DD play soccer. What more could you ask for!

And kikmee - Solar Gio has not lost any players as of right now - 11:37 pm on Tuesday, May 29th!

i didn't want to get into this, but yall have sucked me out.

to show a little class i just want to mention that all known-to-me fever parent posters have had positive things to say about solar gio and the game; and to my knowledge any griping about guests is not from our camp. nobody likes a whiner.

here's what i think we can agree on:

both teams played a good tough game and solar got this one;
the 03 is a good player (fact i think we can agree on - but not saying it mattered) when you get inside the top 10 there are a lot of good players on the field;
yes kp has done a nice job with the kids and we had a great tournament;
gio has done a nice job with his team and came to play;
and i guess we have two #20s - did not realize that

oh and lovesoccer..does it really matter? no not really. we parents get our stuff out of perspective alot on here. i was really bummed because my kids team had a great tournament after lots of hard work and it didn't work out. but she was over it by dinner time and i'm the one still dragging it out three days later.

and looking back, i think this has all come down to the fact that i did not wear my lucky thong to the game. we were running late and i took a risk. just think, if i had my lucky thong, this would all be about the conspiracy of how we beat solar gio with two #20s and two #3s.

Just put an Asterix by the numbers, So if your team does win. People will know you had guest players. LOl

The more I think about it, the stars of that Championship game were the goal keepers. Man those girls made some great saves....especially when they came out of goal.

And no, my daughter is not a GK.

I never saw the results for the Fever Red vs Waco Blast semi final game....obviously Fever advanced, but was it a blow out, close game, or tied and went to PKs?
