I always say go with the coaching not the club. The coach is way more important that the jersey you have on. Look at the team you know and how they play. Ask yourself, is this how I want my DD to learn to play. Then go tryout you favorites. But I would recommend leaving the club out of it. Either the coach is dedicated to his team or he isn't. but a coach leaving his team and his players fate up in the air with no communication on concern is a coaching issue not a club one. That being said, Liverpool has now his a size where organization is very important and they seem to be a little directionless here. But good coaches should keep you from all of that.
huh?
Liverpool is 3rd largest club in the area and closing in on #2. Being that big comes with organizational issues. However a good coach can insulate his/her team from many of those.
You can say that again.

Re: Sadly Disappointed
Everyone should remember that the majority of clubs (even those that say they are non-profit) are still in this for the money and prestige.
The best thing I can tell you is if you have a good coach, but don't like the club. Stick with the coach. If you love the club but don't like the coach, find a coach (regardless of the club he or she is affiliated with) and go with him or her. The Club name only will not make your DD a better player - the coach has to do that. If you like the club and the coach but your DD still isn't getting better then maybe you need to look to extra coaching. Bottom line is are you doing this for your DD? Is she happy where she is? Even though you may not like the club or coach, if your DD is happy where she is and improving then let her stay regardless of what you think is right or wrong. No job, house, etc. (marriage) is ever perfect. You have to look to your DD to see if this fits her the best and if not work together to make a list of what would fit her best. Then use that list to find the closest match you can.
Best of luck to you and your DD.

InaB wrote:We were only short timers at Liverpool (one season) so I can't really speak with any great authority. We were asked to do a fund raiser and unless we sold over 15 flats of flowers, we received none of the money - it all went to Liverpool. We could opt out of selling by paying the club $150. Yes, there were promises made about taking part in Liverpool sponsored skills training, team support, etc. However as a DIII team, with many girls coming straight from rec, we should have been smarter - but we weren't. It makes no sense at all for a club like Liverpool (or insert appropriate club name here) to waste money on DIII teams (maybe even DII) when they want their top teams to have the best in training. It also makes sense that the club would round up as many teams as they can in every age group to make them look like a great club to play with. It is the we are great because we are big syndrome.
