Fireman, at least you feel good about it. If only, those 4 names had have been on the roster, you would have a medal, sting would have a medal and this whole thread would not exist. But, that didn't happen, rules were broken and now you are left making excuses for how this isn't cheating. Call it what you will...it's breaking rules at a minimum whether or not anyone intentionally cheated is up for debate...and nobody has ever said the girls cheated...so stop saying it.

The girls (on either team ) did not cheat. They love soccer. You tell them to play and they will. You sign your team to a tournament with specific rules, you abide by those rules.

The coach and manager are required to submit the official NTSSA roster, validated by the home association and signed by the coach. You don't line up your players and ask for their names, write it down, then submit it.

This wasn't a rec/pickup game. The coach clearly didnt do that. He signedhis name on a roster then deliberately played 4 girls not on the roster. A deliberate act of dishonesty is CHEATING.

Wait I thought it was the wrong roster turned in not a roster with the names mispelled? Were they mispelled on all reports turned in? Were they mispelled on their birth certificate that was turned into the manager? Too many stories with too many holes.

I will admit to being suspicious of the phantom 03 manager since this game started 45 minutes late and 2 hours after the 03 finals. Does it take 2 hours to get the paperwork turned in?

LOL. And you usually take the bait. I really do like you NoCrying. At least you're not as bad as Kix and Field of Dreams. All you have to do is give them the hard count and they jump offsides.

Spelling was an example, I really do not know the what happened with the roster. I do not know if it was a mistake, or intentional. Either way rules are rules. And a lesson learned by me. Will not happen again. We are just playing soccer like everyone else. Looking for a good game and good times and looked up and was in the middle of the ugliest side of competition. All my dd did was play soccer and like I said before, that was the only goal. There is a few posts calling me and my daughter cheaters. I will defend her and my honor until my dying breath. It's a dangerous game you play when you try to field a tournament team that hasn't played together very long so close to the deadline. Better get the names right. I have and admitted what was done was in the wrong. And even in our ignorance accept the consequences. But please refrain from calling me or my daughter cheaters. Cannot believe I let a couple Internet Hero's awaken the primal beast, y'all carry on while I rock him back to sleep.

your daughter is not a cheater. you are an excuse maker for a cheater and the fact that you got dq means other thought your coach was a cheater. have we assigned the blame clearly enough for you? when this happens next time, i am sure it will be just another "clerical error" cheaters are master of semantics....

to avoid all this mess, TD need to stop requiring rosters. All this would have been avoided if a roster was not necessary! Think about all the trees we will be saving. I'll be ashamed to collect my check this Friday. I feel like I "cheated" my boss for the time I spent on here yesterday. All this because we have to turn in rosters!!!

Ooo, ooo, we wanna play too. I say we all legally get our daughters names changed to exactly the same. So we can play on multiple rosters, in multiple tournaments, all at the same time. And to the comment of "excuses", haven't made one, and accept any consequences for unknown circumstances surrounding the team. Hero.

Playing on multiple rosters is cheating fireman. You really don't get it do you?

I'm the manager of the Texans team and this was 100% my fault. And YES, I feel absolutely terrible. The coach, the players and the parents of this Texans team are NOT cheaters. There were no typos or misspellings. I have explained in detail what happened to the tournament official at the game, both coaches and parents from both teams. I had the correct, GLASA stamped, game roster and all of the player's documents with me at the field. The official could not accept the correct roster because the game had already started. I offered the roster and documents to the Sting coach and to several Sting parents to verify. The coach and the parents declined. Several Sting parents acknowledged it was an unfortunate mistake and felt bad about the circumstances. We all felt awful that the girls suffered for it. As it has been stated several times, the rules are the rules, and the game report handed to the ref when the game starts is the one used for roster checks. The official told me it was not the roster that had the other coach upset at the end of the game, but disputing the goal that was made. She may have gotten upset about the roster after that point, but I can't verify that.

I want to thank the person who overheard some of this and tried to share it on this forum.

My apologies to the coaches, parents & kids on both teams. This will never happen again. People have stated we have assured ourselves roster checks at all future games and that's fine. At least it will squash any questions.

No you don't. In academy you can play on any roster your name is on. Just better make sure your name is on it.

If you started the tournament with the same girls from Friday, how could the roster be wrong on Sunday, on the finals itself?

And if you had the correct roster, how do you explain the duplicate jersey numbers? The roster would include jersey number.

Right, you can get any academy girl to play on your team for a tournament. However, the roster needs to be accurate and finalized and submitted to the Tournament Director by the date that they require under their rules. Follow the rules.

We have all made mistakes but the bigger person owns up to his/her mistakes. Clearly this is something you have thought about and felt it necessary to write a sincere apology to all involved. Good post!
