It does give a player the best possible college looks but in the opinion of many the over exposure can be hurtful to those who do not perform on the field. Recent recruiting trends indicate more Texas state schools are recruiting out of state players to build their programs.

A better measuring stick would be how many D1 committed players are on the team. ECNL is a club oriented mirage that allows you to see what they want you to.Take the time to look at published recruiting services to get the real numbers. Average is about 50% will get various scholarships. The full ride scholarships have not increased with the introduction of ECNL.

Both Texas and A&M have recruited mostly Texas players. SMU and TCU have not. Petrucelli has always recruited California and look how well that has worked out for him.

Re: 2014 PRE-SEASON HIGH SCHOOL RANKINGS
Let's remember that the population of the US is 314MM, population of California is 38MM and population of North Texas is 6.5MM.
Of the Top 100 Freshman, the entire State of California had 6 representatives. North Texas had 5
Of the Top 100 College Players excluding Freshman, all of California had 10 representatives. North Texas had 9.
North Texas had 3X as many freshman top players as they should based upon population while California had 1/2. Overall, NT had 4.5X their share while California was just under. But between them, those two areas had 19% of the top college players.
We seem to have more than our fair share of top Club teams in the area and more than our fair share of top College Players from this area. Someone has to be doing something right somewhere.

Let me take a stab at it using DDdads example above. North Texas is 2% of the US population so in a normal distribution 2 % of 24 players is 0.48 players. Or less than a 50/50 shot of placing one girl on the team.

Yet it is apparently a 'given' that North Texas elite girls teams are as competitive as any in the nation and win 'national' titles on a regular basis. Their under representation on national teams would seem to point to something being 'not quite right'....

Weren't you arranging, or part of: "a cost free alternative coming soon....great fields, central location, NO charge...ZERO.....watch this space...run by people who are more qualified than ANY of the coaches in N.Texas" that was going to fix all these problems?

It appears that there are some selective application of information trying to prove a point that just does not exist. I hate to kill this argument with facts but if we agree that NT should by all rights have .48 players per National team based upon our population,
The U 15 team lists 6 players from North Texas in the Player Pool
U 17 team lists 3 players including the leading scorer playing 2 ages up.
U18 0
U20 Lists 1 player from North Texas
U23 lists 3 players from North Texas.
Thus, in total, from U15 to U23, we have a total of 13 players playing at a National Level. By population, we should have 2.5.
Unfortunately, the facts are that we are VERY well represented at the Club Level, College Level and National Level. I know it's fun to bang on NT soccer not being on par with the rest of the country but the results just don't justify it.

Yes...and it happened. So sorry you missed it. We went for ten weeks in the fall at a great facility, at no cost and the girls who showed up loved the experience. WE will pick it up again in the early spring.

May be North Texas is not represented but for sure Sting is represented.

That is a big jump from ......"not a single one..." as claimed above.
BTW, how many do you think will be ideal? 3, 5, 7 or all 24?

In the latest squad (not the one from a few months ago) there was not a single girl (Sting or otherwise) from North Texas that made the U17 national team squad...the poster who was pushing the Sting player was referencing the squad from the past....not the latest one.
