Coping Strategies?

My dd's HS team graduated 9 seniors last year, and has quickly sustained major injuries to two of its best returning players.  There are virtually no upperclassmen left.  The talent pool was depleted to start with, and now the bottom has fallen out before they've played a single regular-season match.  

Knowing they're headed for Davy Jones' Locker before they've even left the dock, I'm bracing myself for cold water.  I've always hated seeing my kid's team get shelled, but it's starting to look inevitable.  

I'm opening the floor to suggestions about how to cope.  I would default to Wild Turkey, but I probably overdo my helpful commentary for the refs already.  Should I ditch my hyper-competitive, muscular Christianity for Zen Buddhism?  Is there enough legal weed available in Colorado to get me to March?

Time for coach and the girls to watch Rocky 1.

This team could watch Rocky, Rudy, and have Zig Ziglar come back from the dead to give them a check-up from the neck up, and they'd still lose 4 of 5.

My DD's game against your school is starting to look better...

We won't be favored too often this season.  My .200 projection has been pretty much on the money so far.

On the other hand, if we can get a parole officer or two to work with us, and mix in a couple of early-release candidates (for good behavior), we might have some interesting matches after all.
