Tuesday Soccer Roundup: North Mesquite girls earn victory, respect from opponent

The North Mesquite girls picked up a 3-1 victory over Richland on Tuesday but it was the one goal they allowed they will remember for a long time.
 
The Stallions (3-1-2) were in control after Kory Dixon tallied a hat trick with assists from Brianna Lozano, Tiffany Santos and Kaylee Torres.

Richland had played the match with heavy hearts after one of its players, Kendell Clark, was killed in a automobile accident on Saturday.

Late in the match, North Mesquite played a ball back to a defender in its own box so she could purposely pick it up with her hands, giving the Rebels a penalty kick.

One of Clark's teammates and friends, wearing her jersey, scored on the uncontested kick as time expired, with the goal credited to Clark.



Her family and her team are in our prayers.

God Bless the family and there are no words to properly express the grief and pain the family and friends must be going through. It is events like what the North Mesquite team did that is all about what is wonderful about youth sports.
