03 ECNL?

It's never too early to take another clubs best players.

I've heard from a NTX ECNL club director that the AP '03s will be trying out Spring '17 which would put them playing ECNL Fall '17.

Seriously? How many threads can we have on here about the AP thing? This "change" will change nothing for the 04s except starting in August they'll be U12 instead of U13. The main impact will be the entering U11 class. The real question is who will move to ECNL?

From previous thread. As I was saying....

I disagree. How can you say there will be no change? Please explain your use of the term "04". Are you refering to the 04's as we know them now or are you refering to birth year 04's. Either way there will be change for both sets.

I didn't say there would be no change. I'm saying AP won't really change the overall landscape for either age group. There will be movement for sure, but there always is. The strong will get stronger and the weak will get weaker. I ddon't buy all of the drama and innuendo regarding AP other than the incoming U11 class. Unless some 03s decide/are able to jump to ECNL next year.

The biggest change will be Texans switching to flipping Adidas kits!!

Word on the street is that may not happen. May move to Atletico Madrid sponsorship which keeps them with Nike.

AP will affect those that decide to be affected...  parents - as per the usual - will be the ones freakin' out when it's time to "make the big decision" about little Suzie and whether you're happy with her playing up as an 04 into the 03 realm or if that's just not realistic and you want dear Suzie to still be the standout in her age group so you defect to an 04 pure team so she's the star QB on her new team...  nothing changes - parents will be parents and the whole chicken little and the sky is falling scenarios will take place as per the usual trends for NTX.  

By 2017 no one will care anymore as it will be all "cleared up" by then anyways - hence the reason they're pushing to age pure in 2016 so they can weed out the problems early.  By 2017 age pure will likely have a strong toe hold in the way it all lays out anyways if parents don't try to fight it and just let the natural process take place.

People be like all freaking out and I be like - you hear they're serving vegan corn dogs at the State Fair?

I wonder what that means. Also how does it reconcile with the last statement in that post: "For development reasons, it is important to maintain five years of ECNL competition for players. By using a January 1 age group cut-off, the youngest age group in the ECNL will now technically be labeled U13 – although this age group will actually include players that are only 6 months younger than would have entered the ECNL in previous years."

I wouldn't say "hideous" but def takes some getting used to

My understanding is U13s will only have one major travel event during the regular season and it will be optional. And if they make nationals they would have that as a post season event (my understanding is that will be in San Diego) They will still have a full season of league play within their region.

Yes, and all Texan coaches will have to start wearing black suits, ties and shirts just like Simeone.
