On Monday, TopDrawerSoccer released a new version of their Boys’ and Girls soccer rankings for the Winter season. To the surprise of…well…nobody, DFW dominates the list on both sides.

The men of the Metroplex took nine of the Top 15 spots, while the ladies did even better, claiming 12 of the Top 15 including the Top 9 in Texas. Here’s a breakdown of where each team is currently ranked.

Girls Soccer: (Records as of 1/18)

1. Marcus (5-0-0)

2. Byron Nelson (7-0-0)

3. Allen (5-0-0)

4. Keller (6-1-1)

5. Southlake Carroll (7-1-0)

6. Sachse (5-0-1)

7. Coppell (5-2-0)

8. Ursuline (14-1-1)

9. Flower Mound (5-0-0)

13. Plano (4-1-0)

14. Hebron (4-2-0)

15, McKinney Boyd (3-2-1)

Total domination. Yep, the Metroplex rules Texas when it comes to women’s soccer. Just to put things in perspective, the defending 6A champions, Coppell, have already lost twice, but are still ranked 7th in the state. The Cowgirls fell to Marcus, 2-0, and to No. 4 Keller — which also beat Southlake Carroll in the same tournament to give the Lady Dragons their first loss of the year.

Carroll had been the No. 1 team in the nation, an honor the Flower Mound Marcus now holds after this past weekend. The Marauders, however, fell last night, 2-1, in District 6-6A play to No. 14 Hebron. Both Gabby Duca and Taylor Moon, whom are up for our Top Girls Soccer Player Vote, scored in the game.  With six teams in the Top 15, it’s clear that this is the best soccer district in Texas.

Two-time Gatorade Player of the Year Jordie Harr is back for Sachse, which instantly makes the Mustangs one of the top teams in the state. Harr and crew took down Coppell, 1-0, last night to stay undefeated.

The Sachse star suffered a season-ending broken ankle in the Prep Showcase.  Prayers for her recovery.

The video of the girl from California taking her out was just awful. It's amazing the ref did not immediately red card that girl.  I sure hope she will be okay so she can continue to represent the US with U20 team this summer.

Agreed, this was an awful incident where the referee let the game get so out of control.

Based on watching approx. 10 high school games already, there's a 1/3 chance for a quality referee squad! UIL/Texas high school must assign referees from local recreational leagues. These are not the same caliber referees that I've seen at ECNL or LHGCL games.

Is Top Drawer Soccer "THE" place to go for High School Soccer updates, stats, etc? What about sites like Max Preps, DFW Sports Day, etc? New to all of this and I love following it all.

not to mention two other teams in the 6-6a district not even on this list. Since last Friday 01/22:

Plano West just tied both Plano Sr. and Boyd.
Lewisville just beat both Hebron and Allen.

I prefer MaxPreps as you can see district standings and if you click the high school you follow, they usually have a game by game summary and player of the game, if your coach or designated rep is updating the site regularly.

This is a great place to find the scores and standings for District 6-6A.  I'm a huge fan of Allen ISD for doing this (do not have a student there) and they even keep track of JV for those of us on JV.
