Cupcake opponents ? Wonder what team your with?... Win or lose Quakes had the hardest bracket, according to YouthSoccer Rankings which has been very accurate thus far. They will finish with the same excitement as they started with. It won't be easy. I get it this is Texas. Quakes win or lose had a good run and far from cupcake competition. FC Dallas is strong fast and aggressive. Quakes had a good first half and FC had a better second. Looking forward to seeing y''all at Surf Cup San Diego 2018

None of the DA teams are in YSR so that's hard to say, but while there was no thing as a cupcake schedule, thus far Quakes has only played one of what I think most people would say are the top six or seven teams in the tourney. And it was a toss up that went to Pks.
That said, Quakes are as good any of those top 6 and probably better than most. Tomorrow should be a great game.
Prediction...DTS 2-1.

Re: 05 DGIC
I would have to agree with you on this. Couple caveats though. Need to level the playing field. In 04 the top two teams that should have been given byes into semi should have been the two ECNL teams not the two DA. Higher points. Or don’t do byes. You reward the high not the predetermined bracket. Just thoughts.timmyh wrote:Following the 04 semifinals, in the 05 and 06 age groups, 5 of the 6 teams left in the hunt are DA teams.
DTS can save some face for ECNL (my money is on them to win the 05 group), but it hasn't been a good weekend for those still clinging to the notion that ECNL isn't 2nd tier nowadays.
Now another way to look at it would be that only 5 of 14 Finalists were DA. I believe you will have 2 DA winners from 7 brackets. Just a prediction.
But I gues you could say that DA is having a good tournament despite the fact that 3 DA teams didn’t make it out of bracket play.

Chill out Cali. Nothing against your team, but even if this was a local Primetime tourney, your bracket would still be considered pretty damn soft. You did what you should have against those opponents. None of whom would even be accepted into Surf if not for the fact that they are from out of state. Texans 3-0Calisoccerfan7 wrote:05DD wrote:DTS wins.timmyh wrote:Calisoccerfan7 wrote:Quakes Win in PK’s !! Great game . Not at all one sided .

Not stirring the pot, but why not sit your goalie and let your best athlete try to make a stop? A little quickness between the frame might do you some good.

Hey KC --
Good run for your little lady this week!
But guessing 1) that you meant the top two seeds in the top two brackets shouldn't have been given byes into the semis, and 2) that you didn't watch the U14 semis in their entirety.
13 year old kids playing 40 minutes of soccer 7.5 hours prior has absolutely zero negative bearing on any result ... in fact it'd be a positive for some.
Bottom line ... it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Hey there Cali --
Great team and fun to watch this week. Fantastic assessment of the semifinal this evening ... Congrats on a well deserved spot in the finals.
And, on behalf of some of us in NTX that appreciate a team like yours traveling here to provide tremendous competition, I'd like to apologize for the behavior and bs ridicule you've endured here, and on the sidelines ... Unfortunately, we do live in a land riddled with rednecks, and overweight football dads that never played the sport living vicariously through their little girls.
Good luck tomorrow and safe travels back to CA!

and yet, so devastating for GDA players that they had to be given a free pass to the semis . . .
Regardless of whether I agree as to the magnitude of impact - I like how you state your opinion as FACT
maybe someday you will learn the difference between the two

You never call, you never write. I feel so left out.
We will have to disagree on the 04 bracket playoff arrangement. Was off from the get go, but that is a whole ‘nother story huh. Plus it was 5 hours not 7 and 1/2. Would have liked to have played full time games the whole week but again we take what we can get, and should be glad we got to play at all.

Hey BigEgo, have you ever thought that stating things as fact, when they are not, simply diminishes your credibility?
When you come on here trying to support your opinion by intentionally misleading people with your "facts", it causes them to question how many of your other "facts" are misleading / distorted / exaggerated in an attempt to make your case.

My opinion only, Quakes are a possession style team, better all around athletes on Texas. Quakes had a fair game but certainly not their very Best. They fought hard, and look forward to a match up again when we are DA. Quakes leave accomplished

1) Both leagues have good teams and bad teams. I believe this tournament allowed us to see which league has the best good teams and which one has the worst bad teams.
2) Solar DA, FCD DA, Texans ECNL and Feet ECNL are very close. It is unfortunate that Feet matched up with Texans in the quarters, I would have liked to see them square off against Solar or FCD.
3) 05 Celtic did well and proved why they should be in ECNL. I believe their 06 team also made it to the Semis.
4) Energy struggled against lower level ECNL teams. For comparison, they tied FCD ECNL this weekend where TSC ECNL beat them 5-1 and they lost to Solar ECNL 2-0 where TSC beat them 3-0. I always root for Oklahoma teams but their style of play is not going to be great for DA.
5) USSF is ruining girls soccer by splitting up this talent.

Easy to call out big and fat football dads when it’s on this forum, but what would happen if people knew his real name and club.
Would you all love to meet the man behind the mouth? It’s funny because he leaves his opinions to himself on our sidelines.
Give him forum and blah blah blah.
