According to a previous post, they are ranked somewhere in the mid 30's for 01's. I have no idea where they are from.

I spoke to a parent that I thought was a Redstar parent at the Fever vs Redstar game. He said that they are from Waco and come up every couple of weeks and play a double header. The part that confuses me is that he said they are an 00' team. They didn't seem big enough to be 00's. Regardless, the part of the game I saw, Fever had more opportunties and controlled the ball better.

Why not? And to be really honest our girls moved the ball very well out there after about 10 min into the game once they got use to it, i asked my DD what she thought about it and she said she liked it and liked having more room to do her "Moves" as she put it lol.
Im speaking on my personal opinion not on behalf of our team but in my opinion why not? these girls won't know any different or no different than you and i would know any difference between a "Kid" bike or a "Adult" bike if we had started out learning on a "Adult" bike.
After watching the whole game i think girls did excellent moving the ball around and using the space on the field and after the game it didn't seem to make a difference to them at all. I think we as parents where more nervous than them ahahh they didn't seem to care. That was just my take maybe 03 dad can share a different view.

Hmmm . . . sounds like maybe they are the 01 part of an 00 rec team. On a different note, I forget how lucky we are to live in the Metroplex, and probably should quit complaining about our 45 minute drives to practice when people are hauling their academy age kids from Waco! Yuck.

I know there was a team there in blue that was from Waco because I saw it on their jerseys. But I don't know about Redstar.

Yes, you are correct! my applogies. I got confused. I now remember the Redstar parent saying they are out of Carrolton. There is a team playing out of Waco that plays a double header every couple of weeks. That must of have been the game after Fevers.

It is just that I have heard and read how small sided games are really good for kids this age; i.e. touches on the ball. Do you guys play 3v3 tourneys or just stay on the big fields? Like the way analogy with "kid bike" and "adult bike". I guess if they have the skills at this point and ready to play 11 v 11 why not.
From the looks of things, you guys, SRSA and D'Feet are taking the SRSA 00 path, playing up all the way to U10. The 03 age group is going to be fun to watch for the next several years.
