u16s and the New Season
u16s and the New Season
Maybe it's b/c our kids (and ourselves) have growm up. Seems more like like a job these days....everyone just going thru the motions.
With the shift to ECNL for so many, things seem so fragmented. Not sure how it all will play out but....I miss the excitement we all used to share.
Along w/ ECNL starting up this weekend, a few LH teams are headed to OK for Beat the Heat this weekend.....and LH kicks-off next week. So good luck to everyone for the new season. Hope eveyone does well in their respective leagues....and most of all that the kids are healthy.

Re: u16s and the New Season
Sorry Socrocks that you will be taken out to the green pasture soon. I get to start all over again with my 4 about to be 5 year old. Any word on Feet's 07s?socrocks wrote:So, things seems a little weird right about now. For the ECNLers it's odd not having a Lake Highlands season, State Cup, Premier League, etc, to look forward to. I remember all of the frenzy on the forum, the rankings/predictions, analysis, mud-slinging. Our group just seems a bit burnt out...no passion anymore. Guess we've been put out to pasture....sorta sad.

I am going to wait for the rankings to come out so I know where to take my '07.

I asked one of the parents.
Me: How old are the girls out there?
Him:He said 5 and 6 year olds.
Me:I said I think I might bring about to be 5 year old out to the next practice.
Him:He said you might want to call first.
Me: Really why?
Him:They are only taking highly skilled players. He also warned me if I do bring her out they may not ask me to practice again!
Me: I asked him how skilled are they?
Him: They are highly skilled and are the best in the area!
Me:I laughed and said I have been down this road before and what you are talking about is ignorant and un-reasonable approach to starting a team so young.

I laughed a little more and thought to myself. I will talk to him again later and point out all the stuff that is wrong with how the kids are responding to their high skilled training. And how they will be lucky to make the jr high c team at this rate!

Everyone needs to come to grips with the process on their own terms....but history tells us....the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Here is the big question. Has it been worth it so far?
Some days I say yes. Then some days I say no.
