anyone knows what happens to Webb 02 GK? She may be the best 02 goalie!

I think Webb x-keeper was good but now it seems with a weeker defense she has now. It might be more difficult to get the clean sheets we are use to seeing. No knock on her but Webb has a good D. Not to much gets back their.

Good point. They do have a good defense but she comes out and challenges the ball. If she plays for Sting, the team will be better this spring. It is hard to have a good goalie.

Well she won't get any worse for more touches on the ball, now will she?

Correct, it never hurts to get an abundant touches on the ball. But what if you go from getting one or two goals scored on you. To 3-6 goals scored on you. Your confidence might take a big hit. You can always get thought kind of shots taking on you in practice and it doesn't hurt anything. But in a game it could get real ugly fast.

Most of the top goalies at this age are coming out challenging the ball so that is nothing special at this age.

Not saying her x-goalie wasn't good because she is I think her defensive line just made her look great due to the low amount of balls she had to challenge on.

A good keeper even with more shots on them and possibly more goalies won't break down. If they are the best they dig deeper and fight harder to keep the ball out of the goal going forward. They also need to know that a goal scored is not a goal on the goalie but a goal on the team.

HSO #2 - a good keeper getting practice touches but playing behind an almost impenetrable defense in games won't improve at the same pace as a good keeper who gets significantly more live-action, game-pressure touches in addition to quality keeper-training. Situating a 10-year old keeper who is passionate about the position behind a team that is good, but not great, is IMO probably a smart move in the long run. (Or as I've heard it expressed by a friend who is an A-licensed coach: the best place for a serious (>14 year old) keeper who wants to push him/her self to get better is on the worst team in the best division/league that he/she can get a roster spot on).

** Though I don't think any kid smart and competitive enough to be a really great keeper will think its awesome that she's getting fewer shut outs, I do think that'll be offset by getting to play a bigger role in the games, and that she'll 'get' that more goals are getting scored because 'Brenda-Sue bad-ass center back' and a 'no-goals-for-you' posse aren't playing in front of her.

I agree the only way a keeper gets better is to get real life game shots on her. She can have shots on her at practice all the time but we all know that is nothing compared to real life game situations.

I know my dd hates when she has nothing to do in the box. She much rather feel like she is being challenged.

My mistake ifyouonlyknew. I took the bait. Hook, line and sinker.

From what I have seen is the Webb team had 2 bad a$$ goalies. When you have two good goalies, one is going to lose time. I have seen one playing with sting indoor. Not sure if it is permenant. She is great and very aggressive. I wish her and her family the best of luck.

I have no idea on Kat's future endeavors. I can only wish her the best of luck with Solar or any other club.

Whatever the rumor is about Kat, she has been very successful in putting together solid teams. Despite of some recent detections, including the goalie, her 02 team is the top 2 teams. Everybody else is trying to be like them!
