They are horrible. Have your girls stay up late the night before celebrating their upcoming victory. Then top it off with a stop at McD's for burgers,fries and cokes on the way up. Seriously though I don't know anything about them. Best wishes for good weather, good refs and a good game.

we have had some good results against antonian who is a consistent final 4 team as you know. a win tie and loss. solid midfield play and a good #9 striker...your turn for a bit :]

oh and 2 cents and maggie. just in case something weird happens. do yall know anything about beaumont kelly?

Team can be uneven. Often play better in the second half. If they are on, aggressive, but not dirty, and no flopping. One of our potentially best strikers in practice, tends to pass rather than take the shot in games. We lost some key players to graduation. Some very fine freshman came in this year. I think the uneven play may be due to them being new to the team and being younger and less seasoned. Coach Hedges is new to the team last year, but has done a tremendous job in turning the program around. Everyone is now well and I think we will have eveyone up and ready to play. Finally worked out the logistics with local officials so the girls with ankle monitors can leave the area for the playoffs. (Joking on this one, but in response to some girls from a school north of LBJ fearing for their bodily and property safety having to play in East Dallas.) I am optimistic that while we have been a much stronger team this year, next year, it should all really come together.

Nope, don't know alot about Beaumont except really bad venue for defendants. I'll google Beaumont Kelly. ... Not finding too much re: soccer. Nolan whipped them in pointy football. I'll see if anyone here has info.

now thats some quality info. and im glad yall got clearance for the ankle braces lol. we have a striker who does the same. tends to want to take too many people on instead of keeping simple with an easier pass or taking the shot when it is there. we also have a classic #10 who is on some colleges radar who i think is a stud. but us not playing a tough schedule as you could hurt us. and as for beaumont.... nothing here yet either. keep searching and i will as well. thanks

I have no idea the level of competition in the area but impressive stats on the TAPPS web site. They don't seem to list the game results on the Kelly school website? In district play, they are 8/2/0 with 27 PF and 7 PA. No flies on them, but looks like Austin SM league play is 7/1/2 with 47 PF and 3 PA. Y'all may be very evenly matched based on stats alone? Based on stats, total package with a strong defense and strikers who can hit the mark?

I was imagining Beaumont Kelly as some real bad-ass, cheap-shot backwoods girl playing on one of the teams -- didn't even think about it being the name of a school.

I don't know much about them other than their only two losses were to a very solid Hou St Agnes team (ranked #19 in Tx) and that last year they were knocked out of the playoffs by Ursuline 7-6. Yes they socred 6 goals on Ursuline!

Anyone who saw the game will agree BL was intimiated at the beginning of the Ursuline game and by the time they found their stride, too deep in the hole. I hope most of the girls don't know the stats and will go into this game with an open mind, ready to play hard against what will likely be a very tough team.

So far so good. Early in the game but BL 2 and Kelly 0. Keep rooting for our local girls!!!!

Austin, so y'all will play BL. I am proud the girls stepped up, especially since one of our primary forwards has an ankle sprain. It is nice for once to have a deep enough bench to not have to rely on just one player.

congrats BL. how was the game against kelly? goods and bads?

I wasn't able to be at the game but was getting regular updates. It was a mud derby with standing water on the pitch. The overall initial feeling from the BK side was this was going to be a lay down in their favor. BL scored early and this seemed to knock the fight out of BK. One of the BK girls went to strike the ball hard and managed to miss/flip herself in the mud. My dd went for a goal kick, managed to contact the ball, but flipped on her back in the mud. After the game, BK allowed the BL girls to shower off the mud in their locker room and the BK parents gave the BL girls a lot of cookies/baked goods. BK was gracious and a class act.
