Pediatric Orthopedist
Pediatric Orthopedist
Just wondering if anyone here has taken their DD to a pediatric orthopedist for this condition and if any surgical intervention was required or helped.
Thanks.

No Ortho or Dr can do what this guy does for your dd.

I'll second this. One of my dd's and many others I know have had terrific results with him.

Re: Pediatric Orthopedist
The reason I was asking if anyone had a DD treated by a pediatric orthopedist for this particular condition is because our pediatrician warned us most ortho docs won't go near her due to the growth plate involvement.
LonDrew wrote:Our DD has had severe O/S issues for a few years. Calcification just below one knee makes it very, very sensitive to impact. Tried resting for several weeks (more than once), but pain returned. Between soccer (club & school), CC and track, there's not much down time for her. Best thing we've found is icing after any/all activities, stretching exercises, and regular visits to the physical therapist. Also, she used to take OSCON, but not any longer.
She's pretty good about stretching having done gymnastics for five years before moving to soccer. Unfortunately I think she's just the perfect storm of genetically powerful quads plus a sizeable growth spurt plus lots of soccer and track. I will definitely look into the OSCON as well.

The girl on your team that took 6 weeks off, do you recall what her knee condition was?

I am 90% sure that her parents said it was Osgood-Schlatters. I just remember it was something that I couldn't pronounce.
