Club Cost

Club Cost
I know parents will not decide just based on cost, but I know it is a strong item to consider.

Re: Club Cost
1000 travel
750 gas money
500 toll tag fees
300 new cleats
that is a good starting point.

Re: Club Cost
*payment plan available
uniforms 500
I would assume DT, Solar, FCD similar in price.
I am not familiar with rates of Independents; however, this would be a good value + no CPP liabilities.

Re: Club Cost
1800$ fee (can pay out over 6 months if needed)
roughly 300$ for uniform (includes warm ups but not bag)

Liverpool fees are similar to this - with lots of required fundraising

Re: Club Cost
Club fees ~ $3,000 per year
Uniform and gear ~ $500
Futsal ~ $150/month ($1,100 per season)
SAQ and Conditioning ~ $150/month ($1,100 per season)
Summer camps ~ $1,000
ECNL Travel ~ Budget $2,000
Team Escrow ~ $500
Worth adding your time and cost of travel. Opportunity cost of time invested in practice, travel and training by your DD which depends on how your DD would use that time if she had it (extra credits, extra study, sleep etc...)
Obviously if you're not ECNL or you don't want to be you can get away with close to a $4,000 "investment". The investment is in professional coaching and relatively good facilities but not is any way a good investment in a college scholarship. Save your money and spend it on SAT Prep if that's the focus. ECNL is NOT the only path to D1 College play, just the clearest one. There's a lot of chatter about "bad" coaches. I haven't met one and I'm not a newbie now.
Just to answer the question asked. No I wouldn't pay the same for a lower standard of play. I may be odd but this would only be worth it to me if I felt the talent warranted the investment. That's a lot of money. D2 is lower cost but lower expectations.

Hodor wrote:Are most of the clubs cost similar?
Most of the larger to mid-size clubs will have similar cost structures (D'Feeters, FC Dallas, Solar, Sting, Texans, Liverpool, Andromeda, Tx. Spirit, Mustangs, Cosmos, etc.) with "Fees" + Uniform costing roughly $3k +/- $500 per year.
I put "Fees" in quotes because different clubs break out their Fee structure differently, so you really need to make sure you are doing an apples-apples comparison of what exactly is included.
For the purpose of the #'s stated above, "Fees" includes:
- Coaches' Salaries
- Outdoor Practice Field Access
- Club Overhead/Administrative cost
- All fees associated with playing in 1 NTX competitive league (LHGCL, PPL, or APL)
- Tournament allowance to cover entry fees into 2-3 tournaments per year.

Re: Club Cost
At Manchester Soccer Club, our fees are typically less than $1000 per year and cover fall and spring league fees, referee fees and tournament fees (Uniforms and winter and summer indoor/futsal fees are additional).

Includes 4 tournaments, 5-10 friendlies (full referee crew on quality Colleyville pitch), winter indoor training field space, etc. You can find quality full-time professional coaching for less than $4000 per year, IMO (admittedly, I'm biased).

How do you define 'professional coaching' in this case?

Re: Club Cost
The lower costs allow for private lessons which kids get the most growth from skill wise.

Re: Club Cost
The game uniform kit, which includes the away and home jersey, has traditionally been adidas and has never been close to $150.
Obviously, to many parents in our area the club name on the jersey and being part of a large club is a social need, but I share the same opinion as some in this thread: the money saved with many independent teams can be well spent on other things such as college fund, academic tutoring, private one-on-one soccer training, braces, car payments, etc... ;)

While I might agree that for some parents club ranking, and status is a draw. However if I used that logic why not go the rec route. You free up a lot more time and money for other things right? Bottom line if your kid is a soccer talent, and they want to play against top competition I'm betting they are not seeking out teams like Purple Ponies or Pink Unicorns. Not too many showcases with teams like that. Just sayin'. BTW, dd plays for a small Indy.

Club fees are about 3K and team fees are about 2K, total of 5K, for ECNL and composite teams! Add another 0.5K for uniforms (more for goalies)!

Competitive club dues are the same for all teams U11+ in each major club. $2950 at FCD this year. There are additional fees for ECNL girls that go to pay for regional/national tourney fees + travel/room/board.
