Flamefest Fail

So apparently the Flamefest TD didn't get the memo that the 06s won't be playing 11v11 until Fall 2018, and didn't adjust the format to 9v9, and now refuses to correct the error. Sounds like several are about to pull the plug on the tourney. And the no refund policy will ensure that teams don't return next year. #Fail #SNAFU #comeonguysgetyouracttogether

It clearly states 06s play 11v11.  Perhaps some coaches/TMs didn't read the rules prior to entry.

Yes hard to argue that the coaches/ TMs are blameless. #doublefail

When was the last tournament that 06's played 11v11?? Anyone?

Definitely on the mgrs/coaches, i know i feel responsible that I didnt catch it. But there is no doubt that it wasnt mentioned on the main page and it wasnt mentioned on the registration page.

I might add that none of the coaches/mgrs in our division were aware of it.

The fact the TD is unwilling to correct an obvious error is downright embarrassing! Quit making it about you and fix it for the girls.

You could play 9v9, but you'll have 9 girls on an 11 v 11 field and they are going to get really tired really fast. You want to talk about room to operate...

What is the benefit for an 06 team to play 11v11 at this point, we are 1 month from qualification. I would rather my DD run more than to have 4 extra DD's out there.

Not sure what is worse Supercopa offering a traditional & AP bracket, then combining the last minute because they don't have enough teams to fill both brackets. And people wonder why the out of towners participation was really down this year. Why market something that is dead in 2 weeks officially and has been dead for more or less for six months. If people are not prepared by this point, oh well. More teams more $$$$ is my guess.

11 v 11 for 06s please. Ants on a mountain. Most 05s can barely handle. I wonder if lil Susie will touch the ball, count with me 6, 7, 8 times. Yep it was 8 times. I understand the rules of this tourney were published "but ain't nobody got time for that"

And btw now we have teams, including the host offering schollies last minute to fulfill their rosters. Surely they read there own rules. Maybe not.

11v11 games will not be included in FBR.

Should be noted as well that flamefest is not an age pure tournament.

They emailed last night asking for feedback to change it to 9v9.

to be clear, it was stated not guaranteed they could provide proper field or goals for it, so it could be 9v9 on an 11v11 field with 11v11 goals is what we were told.

They are sticking with 11v11. Not enough fields to switch.

Rumor mill says several teams are pulling out. Any truth? Tried to contact the coordinator a couple hours ago and never heard back.

I heard that too, but no confirmation on teams.

If we pull out, we lose our money and get reported to NTSSA. For now, being reported to NTSSA is still a threat that means something.

Yes, and unfortunately the TD refused to reset the schedule to a four game Round Robin. Instead 3 of the 5 teams now get a forfeit win and a 10 point head start, but only get two pool play games. Since the group goes straight to finals, at least 1 team is guaranteed to play only 2 games (and Flameout promised 3 minimum). #cluster #wontplaythisoneagainEVER

I hope everyone remembers this thread next year when it comes time for tourney registration. I'm thankful my DD wasn't signed up for this one. It's not fair at all to the girls that are.

Turn the TD into NTSSA, not the teams that pull out!! This is just bad form.

D'feeters will not be considering this tournament in the future. We will play this weekend but I'm very disappointed that couldn't even get credit and play next year as an option but I guess part of it it's our fault for not paying attention to the rules.
