TFC - WPSL announcement
TFC - WPSL announcement
Coach Ed Puskarich, Director of Coaching for TFC is very excited about this announcement. “It is a great opportunity to offer these players to grow and develop with the sport,” Puskarich said. This has been a future goal for TFC and a natural evolution for the Club. “TFC wants to provide a complete developmental structure for the players and we feel that this League will offer a strong competitive environment, “explained Mike Callahan, President of TFC. ”This is a great opportunity for the female athletes in our club," Head Coach Charles Grado said, "Not only is it an opportunity to play alongside collegiate athletes during their off-season, it is another avenue of exposure for our players even after they graduate from their club careers," Grado added.
The WPSL was formed 15 years ago and the founders were committed to providing the opportunity for female soccer players to play and develop at a highly competitive level. Since that beginning, the WPSL has successfully grown from a small West Coast-based soccer league to the largest women’s soccer league in the world with over 70 clubs preparing for the 2012 season.
Team tryouts will be held March 11 and March 18, 2012 at 5pm at the TFC Allen Facility located on the SE corner of Stacy Road and State Highway 121. For more information, contact Coach Charles Grado at cgrado@texasfootballclub.com or visit www.texasfootballclub.com
