04 Power Rankings

There has been a lot of criticism on the power rankings for the 04s. I think the only mistake made by FriscoSoccer05 is not better managing the expectations of the parents here. It will likely take TWO full seasons and some tournaments for the rankings to reflect reality. Even then it will be slightly subjective if all of the top teams continue to play in 4-5 different leagues/brackets based on the formulas.

This should be common sense but apparently it is not. Now you know. In fact, it may be best to simply keep track of and post weekly results and hold off on posting the calculated power rankings for a bit until there is more history since half of the people reading them won’t comprehend how it works.

Anyhow, thanks for keeping up with this FriscoSoccer. It will be really nice after a season or two.

It could also work, if you put in scores from the fall season, and tournaments played between fall and spring season. Does anyone have all the scores? That it would shut alot of posters up.

I agree that's all I was trying to say. if this guy would just enter in all of the info like it should be entered I think this fbr would be semi accurate but for some reason it seems like he won't do that instead it seems like he is trying to manipulate the rankings in lp favor. Far be it for anyone to get on here and call anyone out. This rankings system should be run by someone that is unbiased.

There has to be an outside source that can run it. I know all of the fall tourny results are still available aswell as the fall season results.

I think another factor is amount of tourneys leagues played etc. Some teams don't play much.

That being said does it really matter where your daughters team ranks as long as your dd is learning?

I'd bet a cherry slurpie she could care less as long as her friends are on the team and they are having fun.

Another thing. If you aren't ranked where you think you should be, does that make your team not as good?

Parents, our kids put a lot into soccer let them learn,play and have fun! For all you folks that get on here just to stir things up, it's really not needed. If this forum was truly dedicated to girls soccer in N Texas then we would be supporting each other and the clubs and our dds development instead if trying to tear each other down. If you see a good game and you lose, then give credit where it is due! If you lose because of whatever reason, guess what you still lost. Chalk it up to a learning experience and play harder next time!
