Sting never had a chance. Not competitive. FCD GK could have taken a nap and the score would have been 7-1. FCD coach unhappy, wanted more.

Mostly a yawn on field too. A game of running around and kick ball to the other team. Defeeters better of the two, especially in first half. Polaris had some decent chances / almost stole a win.

SRSA 1 Dynamo 1

SRSA had more shots. SRSA rough and tumble. Dynamo had significantly more possession. Both teams had chances to win. Dynamo missed by an inch wide right at the end. Good match.

You saying that Polaris game was a fine display of soccer? I only saw effort and hustle by Polaris but three consecutive passes??? I don't think so.

Yea, I somewhat agree with you, but don't think Defeeters were the best team on the field. They had no legitimate shots on goal.

SRSA is looking much. their star forward came out of the gates scoring 1st goal. Dynamo wasn't the team people thought they were going to be today. Good game

Agree - good finish by srsa player to start the game. Only saw 1st half. Both teams were battling in the midfield. Dynamo defenders were doing a good job.

02 TGPL Scores Gold/Silver Empty Correction to Sting-Saints score

Post by PlayersDad 17/03/12, 11:30 pm

mcik17 wrote:Sting Royal- 3

The correct score was Sting - 2 Saints - 1

Good competitive game. No scoring in the first half, but the Saints controlled the ball for the majority of play. Then in the second half, Sting scored on a breakaway. Saints countered with a goal at the top of the box. Then Sting put in the winner on a pretty cross. The game ended on a Saints free kick that went just over the crossbar.

The Sting team then changed from white to blue jerseys and got whomped. They were sucking wind after the first game, so I'm sure they were exhausted for the second.

Defeeters passed better but could not get it done. Polaris more direct but only looked dangerous in the final minutes. Teamwork matters more than direct as DDs get older. I'm sure neither team looked at this game as a good indicator of capability. Meant no disrespect. Just called THIS GAME like I saw it. Next game could be very differnt.

SRSA superforward is faster than everyone else and made the difference all game. Came to play. Finish in first minute was first touch and class. She fired a fireball / best chance for SRSA in second half that could have won it. Dynamo kept ball away from her on SRSA side of midfield 2/3 of match. Superforward only had 4 real chances. Both teams only had about 6 good chances which means SRSA defenders did very well given the ball was at their end a lot.

How many players is Sting using to field two teams in both divisions? Was it just a spring break issue or are they sharing every week?

Also, I heard a team did not show up for a game yesterday. Some parents drove over an hour for the game - not cool. At least hey wound up scrimmaging another team, but still.

Can someone comment on the South/Renfro. Friend of mine said the scoreline was not indicative of the game. Heard it could have easily been 2-2. Very close game.

Every player switched jerseys yesterday. A new keeper showed up, but that was the only girl not there for the 8 am game. I don't know if they do that every week, or if this was just due to Spring Break.

Same thing after the TFC 8 am game a couple of weeks ago--which might have affected Sting's play v Dynamo (I believe)in the very next game that weekend but not sure as I didn't stay to watch. Have heard that it was a planned thing and occurs each weekend. They might be doing something similar to what TFC did last season--only they are doing it in two divisions of the same league and with what appears to be mostly all the same players, which seems a little odd to me. But maybe there is a method to their madness.

Just don't know why they wouldn't want to put their best "feet" forward in the gold division instead playing those games immediately following the silver games. The TFC game was a good one although the score did not show it, and it sounds like the same thing happened with the Saints this weekend--so it isn't like Sting is just being able to roll through easily on neutral and still be relatively rested for the gold division games. Maybe it is a numbers issue and there just aren't enough for two teams.

What was the team that didn't show up?
