Many of the 05's will be playing in the Primetime tournaments in May- there are three.

GSSA/GSSC hosts one May 18-20th (same weekend as Legends).

Not all the info is posted yet. I just know its coming as a GSSC parent. Great fields in Grapevine, Southlake. Last year they also used the Colleyville fields, but not sure if they plan to use them again this year too.

CFBSA 5th Annual Spring Bash Tournament

CFBSA in Carrollton / Farmers Branch welcomes you to the 5th Annual Spring Bash Tournament, May 17-20, 2012. This tournament is for U5 - U19 Recreational, U7 - U8 Academy, U9-U10 Academy teams. Not only do we offer a very attractive entry fee, we also play on some of the finest fields in north Texas. We also offer a make-up weekend, May 31-June 3, 2012, if the primary weekend gets rained out. No other association in North Texas can match that.


Last year's torrential rains and winds all day Friday and Friday night forced other associations to cancel their tournament. However, CFBSA, with the help of the cities of Carrollton and Farmers Branch, adjusted schedules so every team could play a full and complete schedule during the weekend. We delivered what we promised, a great tournament, and expect another great tournament in 2012. In years past we had to turn teams away so it's important to register early so your players have the opportunity to play in one of the finest tournaments in north Texas.

It's the same weekend as Legends and the GSSC one, so who knows... I think it's interesting that they do a makeup weekend in the event of bad weather - that's unique!

Unfortunate it is the same weekend as Legends. But we already have a strong pool for Legends so sticking with that.

I'm curious how everyone feels about splitting a new team up to create 3v3 teams for tournaments. Does this seem counter-productive to anyone? What has been your experience with this before? (hurt feelings, parent's attitudes, sadness on the part of the girls who are not on the winning team, etc.)?

How in the world could it be counter-productive? This isn't cheerleading tryouts. Just get 3 or 4 girls together and play. A monkey can coach 3v3. Lots of touches on the ball with no coaches screaming at them.

Academy Team only Tournament (invitational)
Begins June 1-3
Qualifying Tournament format
All teams seeded in Challenge Round (rankings) at end of tournament

- Designed as a League vs. League playoff tournament to showcase leagues with strongest teams.
- A challenge ladder (called a Challenge Round) was added so teams coming out of the tournament have a chance to challenge each other in controlled pick-up games.
