04 Match of the Week - DT North Manchester vs. DT Doyle

If not for this game, the game of the week would be Doyle vs. Kennington. Although Texans vs. Solar element is intriguing, getting the chance to settle who is the best Texans team for now takes the trump.

Unfortunately, I think the kick and rush team will come out tops.

This should be a great game.

If thats all a team has, it will work for a while at the younger ages, but not so much when they get older if they havent learned how to really play the game

That is why I said great teams. You play the strategy that the opposing team is vulnerable to... at ANY level of the game. You might play 90% one way and then catch a team in a moment of poor transition with an explosive play. This is all part of the "beautiful game".

These aren't great teams they are 8yrs old. They should be learning to play not kicking and running. Not saying that either of them are but to any team that is, shme on you coach and shame on you parents

ROFL... I am not sure how you play soccer WITHOUT "kicking" and "running".

I know what you mean but I just get tired of people using that as an excuse when another team wins but "wasn't as skillful".

Not many top 04 teams have their players just kicking the ball forward without purpose.

I think more of them are just kicking it forward than those who are not. Athleticism and aggression rules the day

Sounds like this game lived up to the hype. Heard Doyle up 2-0 at half and Manchester stormed back in 2nd. Great job both teams.

He put his top player in goal 2nd half. Don't understand why, they were outplaying DTN! Perhaps he had some kind of Rota but if he had kept her outta goal they would have won.

Master Bates- I am not sure what your issue is with a bunch of 8yr old's but it's really lame if you ask me. Where you even at the game? Probably not! If you were you would know that the game was pretty evenly matched.

No one team possessed the ball more. No team dominated more then the other. DT got 2 very good goals on us quick in the 1st half but each team had equal shots on goal. DTN had a bunch of shots on goal the 1st half but they never made it to the back of the net (to wide or hit the crossbar/post). In the 2nd half DTN was finally able to make the connection they needed too. DT still put the heat on us the entire game.

While I know the the girl you referenced above every well as we are friends with the family. I will give you she is very good and their top player but they also have 12 other really really good players. So to say this player alone would have changed the game is wrong. A team isn't about 1 player. You should know that by now.

I am tired of hearing you call DTN a "kick" and "run" team. We are far from that if you were ever to watch one of our games. Our players use skills during games when needed. They make multiple passes to move the ball up the field. Do you use the defensive line to some of the times dump the ball up the field for a foot race? Sure but every team does it at times we don't rely on it. If this is bad to you then I guess you don't agree with the USWT then either because I watched them do it SEVERAL times yesterday against Japan.

Just want to say to the DT Doyle parents & players thank you for a great game I know the DTN families enjoyed it as it was a nail bitter.

I am going to get off my soap box and go back to my hiding place.

LMAO you said womans national team Yep they used that tactic for an entire game and the best it got them was an accidental goal against a team half their size and speed. Didn't see the game but can see how taking the passer out of the middle could have an impact. Questionable call by the coach but guess that's why his other team is bottom of D2 on the way to D3. I am still expecting big things from this group. The player pool is deep but they are not going to move kids to the bottom texans team.
