Summer Futsal Leagues

The folks at City Futsal said they were planning a 5 week futsal league starting in May. We were thinking about signing up, but wanted to see if anyone else out there is/would be considering it.

Also, I am trying to convince them to do a "summer 2" 5 week league in July/August. Wanted to see who would be interested in playing in that league.

Do they have a snack stand? My Daughter will ask, so I need to be armed with this extremely important detail. If they have a Yogurt stand even better, her 2nd favorite sport is anything that involves Fieldhouse because they have frozen yogurt next to the courts... Priorities...

I am probably one of their biggest supporters, but I have to say for the price they want for only 5 games, its a bit of a stretch to expect much of a turnout. I have already been hearing lots of teams that are looking at Sportsplex. 8 games, plus playoff weekend.

$$$ is the biggest issue with IAD futsal. The winter league was originally in the ballpark of $125 plus for the season (per person). They shortened the season, but it was still $100 plus for 8 games. Personally, I'd prefer they keep doing their summer one day tournaments. Even better, keep them at SMU. Why? It's so much less noisy and personal. The 10 courts with constant whistles is a bit tiring at IAD.

City Futsal is really great - very well run organization. I agree that IAD is pretty noisy, but at least there are curtains between the courts (unlike Sportsplex). The refs are a lot better with City Futsal too. I think several teams did winter at Sportsplex, and were not happy. We did City Futsal, and even though there weren't many teams, it was still really great for the kids.

I was also encouraging Federico to do a summer league sometime in June/July/August, so hopefully that will work out. And 8 game season would be great!

And yes, they have a snack bar that serves some pretty great stuff, including fruit, salads, and Starbucks!

It is a bit expensive, but Sportsplex is a bit far for those of us on the other side of the tracks in Keller. And I have also heard a bunch of complaints about Sportsplex.

If you can help talk them in to doing a July/August league I know that our girls would play, and most likely our sister team too.
