Has anyone else ever heard of this happening?
Nope! Never heard of it or seen it shouldn't have been allowed.

Now, I don't have a full time keeper and lots of kids take turns, and most recognize who is better so no feelings are hurt.
If Blank, I mean butt3r is using this tactic, it has to be illegal!!

Goal was good and yes it was an 06 game.

I saw it once on a 99 game, where I was an AR.. But you can absolutley switch GKs before a PK at any level as long as it is not a subtitution. So the player switching to GK had to have already been an active player on the pitch... Same thing during tie-breaker PKs. In theory, you can have a different GK for every PK taken
Think of it like this, what if the GK is injured during the play where the PK was ruled... Would they get to shoot on an open goal? lol

Thanks. I have seen it happen during tie-breaker PK's but never during the flow of the regular period.
Our particular situation had no effect on the outcome of the game, just never saw it happen before.

Re: Goalie change during PK????
I tried to change out with one of my rec teams, my goalie had just taken a shot to the face, ball bouncing off of her into my defenders arms. PK is called, goalie is crying, but no blood drawn so shot was taken. Ended up lost the game 1-2. I still have nightmares from that day in 2009. LOL

It's been a while since I've done a Primetime game however, within their rules you can sub at "any" stoppage of play.
Which includes changing keepers.

Re: Goalie change during PK????
Changing the goalkeeper
Any of the other players may change places with the goalkeeper, provided that:
• the referee is informed before the change is made
• the change is made during a stoppage in the match
From Law 3
http://www.ussoccer.com/referees/laws-of-the-game.aspx
And since the LOGT allows for amendments to substitutions for youth play, I would think you could probably sub a keeper from the bench whenever the ref allows it.
