Re: 02 TGPL Gold Prognostication Game - Week 7
Dynamo and DTS both play 2 games including 1 game against each other this weekend and SRSA plays 1 game. These scenarios assume that both Dynamo and DTS will win their other game and SRSA wins(I know you can't assume especially after the Dynamo vs LP tie ).
If Dynamo beats DTS and Defeeters they are in with 17 pts.
If DTS beats Dynamo and Polaris they are in with 18pts.
If Dynamo and DTS tie each other and win their other game and SRSA wins their game then Dynamo will have 15pts, DTS with 16pts, and SRSA with 16pts. There will be a 2 way tie between DTS and SRSA for 2nd seed.
Here are the tie breakers for a tie, I believe if a tie happens DTS will have a better chance to advance on tie breakers since they have 2 games left vs only 1 game for SRSA.
1. H2H -DTS and SRSA didn't play each other, so go to #2
2. Goal Diff(max 5 per game) DTS +10, SRSA +7.
3. Goals Scored(max 5 per game) DTS 15, SRSA 12
4. Goals Against( max 5 per game) DTS 5, SRSA 5...if it gets this far advantage SRSA with only one game left.
5. Coin Toss- go Tails...it never fails!
Note- nietherof these teams has scored more than or given up the max of 5 goals.
This weekend teams might try and run up scores to get the max of 5 goals. SRSA chances will be better if the DTS vs Dynamo game is low scoring tie like 0-0, or 1-1.
I hope my math is correct. Both Polaris and Defeeters can play spoiler by either beating or tieing either team or just by keeping the games low scoring thus helping SRSA with the 1st tie breaker. If Polaris or Defeeters win or tie then all these scenarios are out the window!

FCD 5-1 Fever Easier for FCD.

Sting 2-1 SRSA Game of the week. Sting with coach Q taking over.

Liverpool 2-0 Waco A win for Pool
FCD 3-1 Liverpool

Re: 02 TGPL Gold Prognostication Game - Week 7
WIN LOSS TIE POINTS
FCD 6 0 0 18
SRSA has 4 1 1 13
D T South 4 1 0 12
Sting 4 2 0 12
Dynamo 3 0 2 11
Fever 2 4 0 6
Polaris 1 3 2 5
Waco 1 4 1 4
Defeeters 0 5 1 1
Liverpool 0 5 1 1
Solar and Dynamo have 2 games left. Any of the 4 can sneak in for the final. South and Dynamo play each other. Sting and SRSA as well. The only sure thing is FCD is in the final no matter what happens this weekend. Dynamo has to win and at least tie the other one. South, same deal. SRSA and or Sting get in with a win and help from the other 2.

Solar(SRSA) only plays 1 game this week. Only DTS and Dynamo play 2 gold league games. But, you are correct....Sting does have an outside chance to get #2 seed, but will need Dynamo and DTS to tie each other and hope BOTH of them either tie or lose their other game. Also, you said you are correcting me, but I specifically had a disclaimer at the bottom of my post that said if either South or Dynamo lose or tie their other game then all scenarios are out the window!

Re: 02 TGPL Gold Prognostication Game - Week 7
Upset #1:
Polaris 2 - DT South 1: A win here will rescue Polaris spring season. Both teams are similar hustle and fight hard teams. Polaris will go for it while I think DT South will look past Polaris with a "we got this easy overconfidence". Polaris will get ahead and then try to hold on. If they win, they will pass Fever in the standings and have a very decent spring season for their trouble. I think Polaris team has the heart to pull it off.
Fever 0 - FCD Grubb 5 - Fever not clicking while Grubb on a roll.
Dynamo 1 - DT South 2 - Will be great game. I think DT South will be mad after Polaris upsets them and will wind up winning over Dynamo.
Upset #2:
Sting 2 - SRSA 1: Sting goes from broke / bring their best lineup to rescue their season and beat one of the top teams. SRSA will be frustrated. This game will be make it or break it for Sting's efforts to recruit more good kids before qualifying tournament.
Dynamo 2 - Feet 0: Dynamo takes it to Feet after the DT South painful loss. The score would be more but Dynamo will be tired.
Waco 2 - Liverpool 1: Waco gets a needed win.
Upset #3:
FCD Renfro 0 - Liverpool 1: Liverpool won't end the season without a win. Renfro has been a bit inconsistant. This is the moment for Liverpool to put together their best game of the year.

I really like upsets. But I've watched Polaris three times this spring. Depends which team shows up. I saw them fight hard in one game but then rollover and give up quick in another. Not sure Polaris coach knows how to have them play fired up & focused from start to finish. On the other two games I don't see Sting upsetting SRSA. SRSA does come to play every week. As far as Renfro v Rangel, guess you are saying Renfro is the favorite but I see that as an even matchup so either one winning aint much of an upset.

I agree, this Polaris team has the potential to beat any team besides the top team right now, just dont know what team will show up saturday. My DD is definately geared up for this game. We shall see soon.OOrah wrote:dirknowitzki wrote:I think this is the weekend of the upsets.

I don't see Polaris pulling it off. South plays way more physical than Polaris does.

Polaris 1 vs DT South 5 Dt South just stonger at this point, but I think Polaris is learning to play with the Big Dogs and is developing into a good team.
Fever vs Grubb 7-0 Grubb too strong for anyone to handle in league
Dynamo 0 vs Dt South 3 Dt South will be tired but will prevail
Sting 1 SRSA 3 Solar getting it together and Sting still trying to figure out who plays on roster
Waco 4 Liverpool 0 Waco wins easy
Renfro 1 Liverpool 0 Liverpool too tired after Waco game to win this one.

If you think you can, you can! You might reverse the recruiting gravity if you win! I think it could be a very close game.
Polaris (1) - DT South (2) - Polaris might surprise but I'll go with the odds and pick South to nip it. Rumors that South wants to recruit players from Polaris so the contest might be heated.
Fever (0) - FCD Grubb (5) - No one is giving Grubb a hard game except maybe Higg in May
Dynamo (2) - DT South (1) - Game of the week: Dynamo pretty finesse passing vs full contact power ball / long ball... I think it would end a tie if not for it being South's second game of the day.
Sting (0)- SRSA (2) - SRSAs bigger, tougher, and faster. The SRSA fast forward makes a big difference in the game if she shows up to really play. I think she scores both goals.
Dynamo (2) - Feet (0) - Feet won't produce more than a couple of shots. Dynamo second game so there is a window of opportunity for Feet.
Waco (1)- Liverpool(0) - Liverpool can't find the formula to score.
FCD Renfro (2)- Liverpool(0) - Liverpool can't find the formula to score, and its their second game, and FCD has a good defense.
