I spoke with the dirctor today. She said there quite a bit of interest from the 05 group. She told me Kicks and Aztecs were participating. I'm considering entering the Celtic girls, but was curious if any other teams were participating.

I like the concept of ranking the teams with this format and having the ability to challenge teams ranked above you for friendly matches.

Spectacular concept of a tournament. However, be careful with directors who say that X team is participating. At times, they do this to name drop to get more teams to participate. I'm not saying this is the case with this tournament, but it does happen.

Anyway, the challenge round is nothing more than an expensive scrimmage for $70-$150....ouch. Personally, I never understood why teams were so unwilling to scrimmage one another. My daughter's team struggles at times to find teams to scrimmages. People, it's a free game. Put the coaches on the field, grab a couple parents, viola, a free game.

On a side note, great uniforms. That rugby style/old-school uni is nice.

One of the best ways to determine which coaches are really trying to develop players is to find out how many scrimmages they set up during the year (against other teams).
