No, there are currently 3 FC Lubbock Academy Teams. Originally the "dream team" FC LUBBOCK BLUE was the team in May, December and February. Since, these are all 3 fragmented teams with a few core players on each, a few floaters on each and some rec players and U-9/8 players scattered. The Lubbock team mentioned here has never played 11 v 11 with exception to the pick up kids from the league.
FC Lubbock Serenil / Price - Blue
FC Lubbock Holder - Red
FC Lubbock Bond - Gold
Thats a shame -me we reLly enjoyed playing the old Lubbick Blue team. Good group and good parents.

Please disregard the comments from the other FC Lubbock coach. I don't pretend to hide behind my blog name and make hateful comments about the other teams in my own club. So I will stop right there.

We have requested to play in the Gold division and no we have not play 11v11. We come from a 9v9 Academy League so we will have a learning curve. We wish the other 26 teams good luck in this tournament.

All Parties,
FC Lubbock is a new Club formed by combining Lubbock Lonestar and the original staff, coaches and teams of Lubbock Arsenal FC. We currently have 12 select teams and 9 academy teams. We maintain an excellent relationship with the Texas Tech Women's soccer program and the Red Raider Academy. We have teams playing in west Texas and Dallas leagues.
"noseiron", I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your assertions regarding the '02G Academy teams of FC Lubbock. Otherwise, I look forward to hearing how the players and teams fair in the tournament and hope that future responses on and off the pitch are positive and focussed on developing U10 players appropriately. I have observed the Academy teams in question multiple times over the last month and have come away with the impression that the girls are learning and applying the technical-tactical elements of well-trained U10G teams.
Sincerely,

NO, that team you saw in February split up. Too many parents with too much time to create drama. This is a "Daddy Rec" coached team with about 50% guest players from other teams in the U-10 group. He plays ball with one person in focus, the midfielder blonde haired girl, his daughter. He also has serious anger issues, so piss him off and he will get out of control and sink his own ship. A good portion of the players parents think they should coach from the opposing sidelines. They will get loud and not very cordial.
Glad to hear an unbiased opinion.
Now tell us how you really feel.
Opinion or Fact, does it matter, I have watched this team through the rec divisions for the past 5 years. Go see for yourself.

I'm getting this information 2nd/3rd hand, so take it at face value...
I heard this week that the Goodman group has merged with the group that was training under Rezaie and they are now going to form 2 '02 teams (Sting Rezaie and Sting Goodman) instead of 3. Don't know how all of the #'s work out, but I heard that Goodman only had ~10 players before merging in.
So my guess is that the Goodman team is now closer in strength to the Sting "Royal" team that was playing TGPL Silver in the Spring.

Re: U10 Girls - AFC adidas Tournament
True. Sting has up to 34 girls showing up on a consistent basis. It will be divided into two teams. Q and Hanks. These 2 teams in the tournament are a mix of all players combined. A true not here to win attempt but to see what the girls can do during this tournament. All this talk about now is not the time to start thinking about winning on the other thread is bogus since everybody else is trying to send their best team plus guest players is clearly an attempt to show up with the best possible team. Nothing wrong with that. But it contradicts the thread.bwgophers wrote:mommabear wrote:coachdom23 wrote:mommabear wrote:Sting Goodman in platinum? I believe I stand corrected....Sting Goodman did awesome in Shawnee. DT South beat them in the semi 2-0 but South didn't score until the 2nd 1/2 of overtime. Wow...good job Sting...holding off a powerhouse like South through overtime in the semis is something to be quite proud of.
Of course congrats to my friends at South.. and good luck in the finals against Sting "Q".

Thanks Coach Dom for all you do to try to make things fun and fair in your tournaments. I truly appreciate the communication. It is obvious you go above and beyond to try to accommodate all the coaches and teams. And for putting us with all us "experts" out here I am sure it also means you open yourself up to "Monday Morning Quarterbacks" that will tell you everything you should have done differently once the tournament is over.
