Sting West '02 looking to add 2-3 strong players

Great team with a great coach (Kyle O'keefe) under a great club (Sting). As a parent, I cannot express enough gratitude to Kyle for what he has done with my daughter. When I was driving her to her first practice a 2-3 years ago, she cried because she thought I was going to yank her off her REC team. Then, when I had to leave early from that practice, she cried again because she wanted to stay. She has not been the same since. After only working under him for 1 year, she was a VASTLY better player than she was prior. So much so, that when her REC team won 1st place for the first time, the other teams accused the REC coach of recruiting my daughter. Yet, she had been on that same REC team since she was 5. They didn't notice her before, but they noticed her after. Now she is better still, and I couldn't be happier.

Unlike many coaches out there, Kyle will make each and every girl under him a better player and will have them working together as a team. He does not improve his team by continuously replacing girls with better recruits. He is what I'd call a teaching coach rather than a recruiting coach. I've had recruiting coaches before for one of my older kids and it was a disaster. Those coaches would tell parents and players what they want to hear just to get them to sign the dotted line. I was looking for the best team out there for my kid, so I ate it up. These teams were great, but as a player, my kid did not get proper coaching. Even though my kid started and never came off the field in any game, other kids, with real coaching, were progressing at a faster pace. The team slowly declined and eventually blew up. From then on, I vowed to find real coaching for all my kids. Real coaches are great at improving players to make a better team, rather than improving the team by finding better players.

Still have openings! Great opportunity to play for an awesome coach.

In my experience, good coaching is the most important aspect of player development. For example, my oldest daughter played in Arlington for 4-5 years with a small club with a great coach. She was able to go straight from that to LHGCL D1. On the other hand, a bad coach is more likely to regress and burn out players.
