or Jiu Jitsu...

From what I hear this is something that my DD should consider if she is going to play in LHGCL?

Thoughts?

FYI... my DD is a head to head and half shorter than most DDs in the U-10 age group... Smile

Jiu-jitsu is for ground fighting. judo would be better. it is useing their momentum against them. throws, joint manipulation and chokes. Twisted Evil

Agreed. Occasionally you will see both taken to the ground, but for the most part, Judo will help you learn to use the momentum and size of the other players against them so that your DD is left standing (and with possession of the ball ). cheers

Just buy her a mouthguard. Seriously if she is that short. Elbows suck.

Yeah... has had a run in with some elbows... busted lips and black eyes. She knows how to get back at them cleanly... Smile

Mui Tai looks to be the most practical with lots of elbow and knee strikes. Can't forget the open palm strike either. I have seen that used from all directions.

Whoa unto the DD that busts my DD's lip... she might do this to ya:

MMA Training Van-Damme-Bloodsport

This is all in jest... she is a tiny package but can pack a punch... what do you expect from Irish/German/Puerto Rican/Mexican mixture?!
