SRSA 02 Missimo

I just got whiff of a rumer from lhgcl that the srsa missimo 03 team that has been maskerading as an 02 team for a few weeks is actually going to be allowed to qualify this summer. Herd that lhgcl told them to make the semis in at least 2 tourneys and their in. anyone else heard anything?

I am sure someone will actually follow behind me with info that has been verified somewhere but I was under the impression that you can not play up into select if you are academy (team or age) but if you are select (or pre/select 02's) you can play up.

I would think that if this were true or even allowed both Higg and Grubb would be on their second year of select by now!

LHGCL Bylaws and Rules - Rule II Age Requirements states:

1. It is desired that all teams be age pure. That is, all players on a team should be
born on or after August 1 and on or before July 31 of the following calendar year.
A player’s age is calculated as her age on July 31 of the current soccer year.

2. Younger players are allowed to play in an older age division with the consent of
their coach and parents. However, NTSSA rules state that any player who has not
attained the proper age to play Under 11 select soccer may not play up on a
competitive (select) team. Players must be 10 years old or older on July 31 to
participate in competitive soccer the following soccer year.

3. Teams will be placed in age divisions according to the age of their oldest player.

From this I would say it is just a rumor (for '03) and will not be. The only thing I can think of is that Missimo is trying to put together an 02 team.
