Best Foods to Eat Before a Tournament? Empty Best Foods to Eat Before a Tournament?

Post by 06Girls 11/05/12, 06:24 pm

Parents, what do you think is the best food to eat the morning before a tournament? I have read different things, some say waffles, some say cereal. What have you found to be the best pre game and in between meal before a tournament to help provide energy?

I think anything with carbs is the way to go. The runners always seem to eat pasta the night before a marathon, and pancakes the morning of the race. Since I would compare a soccer game to a half-marathon, that's what we try to do. But we do sugar free syrup on the pancakes. Smile

Two nights before tourny good to get in pasta as well as some the nights after. Carbs necissary big time especially in tournaments with so much playing. Carbs create the energy you use while playing. Also on the day before and day off protein very important some chicken or fish. My college coach used to tell us fish made us faster lol. During tournament good to avoid fried foods (yes i know this is hard) french fries hamburgers, etc. Drink plenty of water

We usually drop the kids off then hit Starbucks and/or the donut shop.

One of the best "lists" I've seen is this article put together for the D'Feeters website... Probably just what you are looking for.

Would suggest raw meat. If dd can kill it herself she will be in right frame of mind for games... Sorry, you said tournaments not LHGCL game. Please disregard until fall.
