Twas the Day before signing......

Twas the day
before Signing,
All was quiet and fine
In the select soccer forum
Of girls ‘02.

The socks were put up
Right next to the cleats
In hopes of Olympics
From age 10 athletes.

The girls were all restless
And running round crazed
While dreaming up what to do
With all their free days.

And all of the parents
From Solar to Sting.
Were getting their Gear
And looking to Fall.

But while in the forum
Not much was the matter
No BS was flying
And not lots of chatter.

Sure there were disgruntled parents
Who were looking elsewhere
Due to contracts and playing time
It all was unfair.

But it’s their first select year
And they’re in the know
Bout all of the extras
That cost lots of dough.

And there were new parents
Who did not understand
The soccerois languagoris
Of this new foreign land.

When what to my wondering
Eyes should appear
But threads of advice
We all want to hear.

Thanks for keeping us laughing,
Informed and awestruck.
Making us think in the forum,
“WTH! WTF!”

Thanks for keeping us sane
In sight and in tune.
Knowing some of the parents
Belong in rubber rooms.

And you can hear me exclaim
As I’m about to log off,
“Select has driven me crazy!
Hell, my kid’s changing to golf!

Funny stuff soldier. Thanks for the laugh. We almost quit and just let her play volleyball. Lol. The last week and a half has truly been more stressful than I ever imagined. Ready for Monday to be here so I can go on with my life!

Amen Sister! And after tomorrow, we can all sit back, relax and watch our ten year olds play the most high stakes, high pressure soccer they have ever played in their lives. Luckily for us parents, those pop-up tents will keep us comfy and out of the 110 degree heat while we are watching!

You forgot to mention that while sitting in our vented chair and in between sips of our ice cold water we yell, "attack the ball" and "can't you catch her?".... Or better yet "what were you thinking???". Lol

Let's be fair to Mommabear and the rest of us dedicated soccer parents. We have lives outside of soccer. It's just that our non-soccer lives revolve around our soccer lives.
