SRSA '03 has tried.

NOPE! Not sure of the details, but I am sure it has something to do with you guys qualifying.

You guys have an awesome team for sure... But I'm glad they said no. I'd like to see as many 02 vs 02 matches as possible.

Re: King Tut Tournament
No stakes...you have to use weights on the bottom of your canopies
It costs to park
Schedules were out on Tues last year
Brackets weren't exactly top 5 in A, next 5 in B, etc. More like top 10 distributed between A & B by using the dart throwing method apparently.
It was hot
2 games a day for the most part....many Sunday at 2:00 during the World Cup Finals
Let's see..... Oh, they basically had the exact same speculations concerning teams that didn't play in the pre-qualifying tournaments that we had... where is so and so, are they hiding, so and so doesn't need to bother playing anyway they are top...for them it was Solar Bates, for us Grubb I guess.
BWgophers: question...can you tell us how the teams that skipped playing pre QT were seeded by LH? I am curious if the strategy worked.
Guess that's all I got.

Sorry Mommabear... I got a phone call yesterday from the Exectutive Director of Emergency Services at Parkland... Apparently local emergency rooms were over-run on Thursday and Friday with people complaining of severe brain cramps and mumbling "D@#n Gophers!"
He has respectfully requested that I refrain from posting on anything related to King TUT, Puma Cup, or QT seeding citing "Concern for the greater good." and so that the emergency room and psychological staff at Parkland can get sufficient rest prior to the weekend of July 29th.

Honestly... all of the people posting on the forum and sending me PM's with questions about QT seeding and stressing over strategy and which tune-up tournament to enter, etc. is starting to give ME a migraine...
...but, since you asked nicely.
Going through my archives, I think there were only 2 teams of significance that skipped both King TUT and Puma Cup last year.
Dallas Solar Chelsea: Ended up with #10 seed in QT. Most people were predicting them to be in the #6-8 range. Qualified for D1 in week 1.
FC Dallas West: Ended up with #11 seed in QT. Most people were predicting them to be in the 10-13 range. Both FCDW and DTRN (#12 seed) went 2-0-1 in the 1st weekend of QT, with DTRN squeaking by on either points or goal differential (can't remember) to get the week 1 qualifying spot. FCDW qualified easily for D1 in week 2 of QT.
Two teams played up against older competition in the tune-ups last year. Solar Chelsea Red (Bates) was the #1 consensus '01 team and hadn't lost to another '01 girls team in over a year leading up to QT. They played up against '00's at King TUT. Can't remember how they did, but it didn't affect anything as they were the #1 QT seed. I would expect the exact same thing to happen this year with FCD Premier '02 playing up against '01's in King TUT.
Kicks SC played up in Puma Cup. The ended up with the #6 seed in QT. Most people were predicting them to be a top 5 seed going into QT. They still qualified no problem in week #1 of the QT.

Thanks...seems like it really didn't matter that they skipped. Good to know. Thanks again. Hope you get a break from all us newbies sometime in August!

it was hot...good job sherlock, we are in Texas. Also I'm guessing schedules would be out on Monday since there are going to be games on Thursday this year.

Wow, you a jerk much?
If I recall it was much hotter than usual, to the point where many games were canceled and rescheduled.
