Geez, I know its possible to hate just about everything and everyone on this board but sometimes we need to give a little credit where credit is due.

There were 66 of the top clubs in the country (notice I did not say ALL the top clubs) and each club has put together an all star team of the very best players they could attract (notice I did not say ALL top players)and they competed week in and week out against the best competition in the country. IMO finishing fourth and seventh was an outstanding showing by the Texas Conference. Sting, in fact, played the Slammers in two age brackets at the very end of the tourney with first place on the line for the Championship. They lost one in the last minute of double OT and one in PKs.

With all the North Texas soccer bashing that has gone on, the Texas Conference put 4 teams in the top 20 along with SoCal and the MidWest. Imagine that. Texas Soccer competing head to head against the best SoCal has to offer. These are age groups that matter. The North Texas clubs compete just fine on the National Stage with a smaller population to pick from, worse weather and all these terrible North Texas coaches and styles of play.

How about a just a smidgen of recognition for some really great accomplishments for not only Sting and Texans but for all of Texas Soccer? Not a girl on either of those teams is where she is without this whole system. Something had to have gone right somewhere..... right??

Congratulations to the Texas conference, with Sting and Texans in the top 8. Six Texas teams (Sting, Texans, Lonestars, D'Feeters,Solar, Challenge) out of the seven Texas teams finished in the top 50% of the league (top 33 teams). The one Oklahoma team nearly finished in the top 50% (at 34). This demonstates the strength of the entire Texas conference across the U15 to U18 age groups. The U14 teams(98s) were not included in the rankings.
