Kick it 3v3 Help

My 8 year old just found out today that she is no longer welcome to play with her 3v3 team. (Texas Fire 04). I'm being told that she will no longer be allowed to play because her 3v3 team is going to be taken over by Lee Weddall and they will be representing Liverpool. Since, my daughter no longer plays for Liverpool RASE, she is being voted off by Lee and the rest of the parents. Unfortunately, they waited until one week before the regional kick it 3v3 tournament to let us know.
We learned a valuable lesson today about how cut throat people can be with 8 year old soccer. We never expected a team of friends playing 3v3 together could get so political. I hope those involved are proud.

So, does anyone need an extra player for the kick it 3v3 tourney? DD just wants to play and have fun. It doesn't have to be on a team that is hellbent on trying to prove it can dominate the world and deserves to be in ECNL. PM me if you have a spot available.

Isn't LW all about PLAYER DEVELOPMENT? Just like all these BIG TIME A B C D Licensed club coaches Wow cut at 8...Guess its back to REC for your daughter to re-learn the fundamentals of the game from a volunteer DAD coach.

Big shout out to everyone that responded and sent PM's. I think we found a 3v3 team for my DD to play on with some of her friends. (Real friends,......not the kind of parents that will push a kid aside because she doesn't play for the same club).
As for Liverpool RASE, I will take the high road and not post on this forum how I really feel about that organization. But if anyone wants to know, just ask me...... I won't hold back.

Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately the situation is playing out just like I called it at the Primetime tourney with LW and the Texans scheduling fiasco. This group of parents is in the ear of LW and he seems to take a backseat to their every wish. The shame of it all is LW is no doubt one of the best around, but the lunatic parents he can't control will end up being his demise.

Believe me, this didn't come directly from LW, this came from the parents that somehow felt scorned that you DD isn't playing with them any longer.

this is one of the main arguments against having "club" soccer prior to U-11. It's hard enough for an 11 year old to understand being cut - now they are getting cut at 8 or younger. You just can't avoid the politics or the "win at all costs" mentality when money and pride are involved.

I personally have seen players at U-10 be so uncoordinated that you wonder how they walk from the car to the field without falling down, then when they are 16-17, they are playing D1 soccer or better. The future is not written by a particular coach or circumstance. The players with god-given talent are usually not the best players when they get older. The ones that are the best are the ones that love the game and want to work hard. You know the type...the ones that complain that the ref stopped the game for a water break when its 110 degrees out...the first to practice, the ones that stay late, the ones that seek out skill training, etc. Take note of the faces at this age. You will be genuinely surprised in 8 years when you see who is still playing, and who is playing at a top level...I guarantee it.

I couldn't agree more with you. It isn't hard to figure out which players will be top players in the future. A great work ethic and love for the game is easy to spot.

My son was cut from a FC Dallas academy team when he was 9 because the coach was too lazy to work with him. Now my son is U16 plays D1 Classic, had an offer to play DA, but turned it down because he wants to continue to play HS and has been contacted by several college coaches.

The FCD coach still coaches, not for FCD, but my son always enjoys playing against his team

My Niece played U11 as a non starter for a D3 team

She played U12 as a starter in Plano Premier

She played U13 as a D2 starter

She played U14 as a D2 starter

She played U15 as D2 starter

She played U16 as a D1 starter

She played U17 as a D1 starter (Gained a Full Ride College Scholly)

She will play ECNL at U18 as a sub and still play D1 as a starter..

All that to say: IT DOES NOT MATTER UNTIL THEY ARE HIGH SCHOOL AGE!!!!

When I first got involved in NTX competitive soccer in the early '90s, a coach told me 'you really won't know what kind of player you have until U14'. Like most parents, I thought he was crazy. Now, I realize just how wise he was.
