'03 Girls FBR Rankings - 09-12-12
'03 Girls FBR Rankings - 09-12-12
A few notes:
1) I am going with a 16 week look-back on results. Currently, that means that I am including game results from 5/26/12 – Present. Each week, I will delete the oldest week’s results from the database. So, by the beginning of Dec., the rankings will only reflect Fall league results + Nov/Dec tournaments.
2) If your favorite team does not show up in the current FBR, that is because I do not have results from a minimum of 3 games played against other ‘03’s since 5/26/12. As teams get to a minimum of 3 games in the database, they will be added into the rankings. There should be roughly 85-90 teams in the ’03 rankings by the end of Sept.
3) I don’t have time to cut/paste and post the inter-tier records and ranking tiers this week, but I will do so in future weeks.
4) For those of you who may be new to this, for a detailed description of the FBR methodology, please go to http://www.ntxsoccer.net/rankings.aspx
5) Finally, as a reminder of my philosophy on this...
Love 'em? GREAT! Enjoy them!
Hate 'em? GREAT! Ignore them!

This is a CALCULATED method of ranking based on mathmatical formulas. Nothing could possibly make more sense.
If team A beats Team B one time last week it doesn't move them up the charts above Team B automatically.
If team A continues to beat the same teams Team B plays by higher margins than Team B, or plays and beats Team B more than once, they will leap Team B in due time.
Now, you are free to put an opinion based ranking together anytime you like... this is not opinion based.

But, I do believe it has a purpose....and I'll continue to follow and support FBR ....maybe just not as religiously as you.

ROFL...
You jump on here to criticize based on a 1-2 ranking difference based on a last week game then pretend to understand how it works saying it's flawed.
I never claimed it to be foolproof... No system of ranking EVER IS. I just pointed out yours and the previous posters obvious ignorance of how it works based on your own comments.
O K.

Sting is being buoyed by some results from a Memorial Day tourney (W over FCD Premier & a split with Fever). As I've stated previously, FBR doesn't have the ability to use a sliding weight system that weighs recent results more heavily than older results (I would use it if FBR had it).
The Memorial Day results will drop off the history after this weekend, and that will drop Sting relative to FCD Premier and FCD East. However, we will also have to couple that with the results from TGPL this coming weekend (Sting v. Fever, FCD Prem v. Sting Mendoza, FCD East vs. Cosoms) to see how it all plays out.

Better record........ Only because they've played and loss one more game than you guys. #6 has loss to #3 twice, #2, and #1 all in the last couple months and within one week of each other. Who have you guys loss to and just how long ago was that? How about you go play #1, #2 and #3 and then let us know how that turns out.
