Usually, one of the goals of a non profit is to do something for the better-ment of the society or to advance their mission. In todays society, non profits often lose sight of there original intentions, and line the pockets of the administrators and high level personel. They basically payout everything instead of showing a profit. However, from a tax perspective they show no profit. So, profittable to the ones who are gettingn the extra gravy!

Now, I don't know that this is still true, but I had heard that many of the not for profit clubs, gave any overages for the year to charities so that they could retain their non-profit status. I am sure someone here on the board can expand on it.

Still true? That was never true. At least not in the case of any of the "name" clubs.

Also, a non-profit can make a profit and redistribute internally or just save it. They don't have to break even, but maybe a few occasionally break bad.

Who determines what's fair? What are the criteria? Why wouldn't you want a free market set the pay of coaches? If capitalistic free markets don't work then we don't have economic freedom.

Everyone needs to leave the select coaches alone. Honestly, what the hell else could they do? They need to feed their families somehow.
