Can a girl that attends K high school play select soccer for the coach of the boys soccer team at K high school?

Its been a while since Ive read thru the UIL rule book, but fairly certain it details that would be an issue. That being said I know Ive seen it happen, and not be an issue because no one made it an issue.

I think them playing for the guys coach at HS is likely not a problem just if the club coach was a girls coach at the same school but could be wrong on that.

The reference with UIL pertains to school employees period, if I remember it correctly.

Not sure if it has changed since I last researched it a few years ago, but back then it was player/coach specific. If a boys HS coach had a girls club team, there were no restrictions. The only rule of thumb was that a player could not play for the same coach in club and HS.

I found this:

(f) OFF-SEASON PARTICIPATION IN NON-SCHOOL TEAM SPORTS.
(1) School coaches shall not coach 7-12 grade students from their own attendance zone on a non-school team or in a non-school camp or clinic, with the exception of their own adopted or birth children.

Nope been in this situation and the club coach was pulled from our team because he coached the boys team for the school some of our players went to.

UIL rules are geared for preventing a school from gaining an advantage over other schools and (previously) at the expense of player development. Long ago, a student had to choose between club and high school soccer. (Not referring to the current situation where Academy keeps its players out of high school soccer.) American football example: high school coach cannot be involved in the 7-man program during the summer - he is likely close by and coaching through proxies regardless.
