Many a youth select team succumbs to moments of kickball -- sometimes it's because they're having an 'off' game or an 'off' # of minutes in a game, sometimes it's by design against a particular opponent's perceived weakness and/or has something to do w/the other team having a wind advantage that they're trying to offset*, and sometimes it's because they got sucked into it by a kickball-playing opponent. I don't have any affiliation w/the team you're calling out here, but IMO it's kind of crappy of you to call out the whole team as you did for no reason (meaning no discussion of who wins division, tournament, etc.) other than what I suspect is an ax to grind against their coach or club.
* Note that I think kickball by design, for whatever reason, doesn't make a lot of sense, as kicking it into the other team's half of the field w/o a real, intended teammate-target pretty much just gives the other team possession of the ball, right? Notwithstanding my own hot-sports-opinion re this, sometimes it's done.

I have no problem with the opinion but how do they compare to other teams you've played in the league?
We haven't played them as of yet but most teams seem to be pretty even in comparison.

If we were playing air hockey then I could see the benefit of the constant kicking of the ball back and forth. However, soccer is the original "football."
If players and teams keep control of the ball through passing and dribbling then the need for kicking the tar out of the ball isn't necessary. Just my two cents.

Re: Texans 00 girs
The DTNs games I have observed, IMO the side mids were under utilized when forming an attack. Specifically, because the "up top" players were moving very fast to make a play, and didn't get their "numbers up" to form a more effective attack. One side mid in particular, is a very good forward, and surprisingly was not used up top as much as I thought she should have been IMHO.
Overall I think the DTNs have a potential beyond their reflected standing.
On a side note, the team that has surprised me the most has been, Solar White! They have all the tools and bits in the box. But, haven't been hitting the back of the net as much as they should be. @InaB, After a review of the video I believe the offside call on the penalty kick was a bad call. (no sour grapes)

What team are you referring too? There are several Dallas Texans00 girl teams.
In general, I am not a fan of talking in a potentially negative way, whether intentional or not, about a team on the forum for a variety reasons. However, I will say that ALL teams could stand to play A little bit more possession and less clearing, booting, etc. My main pt is
That there a very FEW teams in the divisions that play good possession soccer and, as a result,
It really is not worth calling out just one team.
Sorry! Not trying to kill a thread but it is hard highlight one team when they are a part of the majority....IMO.

Hi Dad, I agree with you. After two years of regrouping, we haven't quite jelled. If one of our shots (that hit the top goal bar) had gone in, we might have had a tied game. We are improving a lot and hopefully by spring, we will be keeping up with the Jonses. I thought it was a good game all in all.
We will see what the spring brings for everyone. There is still a lot of juggling among the top teams right now - it will be anyone's guess how this all plays out. I think, and correct me if you feel I am wrong, that in many ways, many of the teams in DIII are evenly matched and as such things can swing a lot between now and May. Best of luck this weekend.

I agree with you, the teams do seem to be evenly match throughout the DIII, that statement may leave ample room for conjecture, but at this point only one team remain undefeat(that's sounds punny)
Good luck in the this weekend, if it doesn't rain.my crystal ball tells me your team is due a V.

Hi Ina, I do agree with you, many of the teams in DIII do seem evenly matched. At this point in the season only one team remains undefeated(that sounds a little punny) and that does leave ample space for conjecture. However my crystal ball tells me SW is due a win in the next match up. Good luck next weekend. Let's hope the soccer and rain gods will smile upon us this weekend.
