With the fall season almost finished, I think it would be interesting to hear thoughts on the season:
1) What team was the biggest surprise? Not for me, but I think most people counted Pulp out.
2) What were the key themes/learning from the season? The play of Teenage girls is as random as the weather...unpredictable.
3) Do you think the spring will be different than the fall in terms of standings? Nope. Top 3 will finish in top 3. Bottom will stay same. Middle will very slightly.
4) What was the most improved team? Ranking do not show but Maybe Sting Q. They played the top 3 better than anyone.

I think that on "Any Given Sunday" (or Saturday in the case of LH) any team has the opportunity to go big. I would say that given the last two seasons play, the top three will still be the top three. Other than that, it is up to the rest of the teams to find it within themselves to place well. For some of the top teams this is their swan song before moving. For others, they may be content to move up on the tail of the moving giants.

So, my question Skeets, is do the rest of the Division I teams coast - some knowing that there will be upward movement - even if they just play to hang on? Or do the rest of the Division I teams prove that they deserve a move up when ECNL teams split?

Personally, if I were a coach (which thankfully I am not), I would want my team to go forward in a blaze of glory. That takes extra, hard work, so I am not sure that teams/coaches would see it as worthwhile when teams will automatically move up and they will still be in Division I. Bottom line is it enough to just stay or is it better to show yourself and everyone else why you are in Division I?

At UTD, the new fields are great but the latrine situation needs some consideration...the porta pots ain't cuttin it.

At railroad, it took me twice to figure out that the latrines for each sport are exclusively opened when the individual sport is being played. It doesn't matter if you are closer to the baseball latrine, go to the soccer latrine.

Never mattered at Moss...surrounded by one giant toilet

Chinn Chapel has best toilets and best concession stand.

Nay sayers about any one team usually reside in the camp of "I want to see that team fail".... for whatever reason. You will always find people (coaches and parents) who seem to know more about a team than the actual coach of the team...I find it better to focus on the hot dogs and proximity to the head as those are areas I can claim expertise in.

As for #2 - the bows in the hair seemed smaller or absent for the most part this season

IMO the biggest shocker is the point spread from 1st thru 3rd.

1st to 2nd from 4-7 pts depends if pulp wins out. SR has already played 8 and done for the half.

1st to 3rd as high as 14 pts but most likely 11.

that's a lot to make up the second half.
