Keeper Zone Striker Camp December 15 & 16
Keeper Zone Striker Camp December 15 & 16
We hope all of you had a great fall season and are looking forward to a fantastic Holiday! Many of you have asked us if we do anything in the winter or throughout the year for the campers. We do not have any camps at SMU in the winter but there is one event that we recommend to all of you who have joined us in the summers and enjoyed the training and coaches.
This year on December 15 and 16 Coach Joe Waggoner (SMU Men's and Women's Asst Coach/ Goalkeepers) is directing a training program focused solely on Field Players scoring goals and Goalkeepers saving goals. Every year at camp these are the most enjoyable sessions for the players and the very essence of our game is about scoring goals. We believe this program will be fantastic and the idea of the players and goalkeepers working against each other in different training situations will be extremely beneficial to all involved.
Coach Erwin will be coaching and designing parts of the training program and will be able to work with all of the players. The cost is only $100 and all of the information is below.
If there is anything we can do for you please do not hesitate to contact me! We have included info on the event below and have also attached the information as well.
Happy Holidays!!

Everything to Goal - at Game Speed
Often with team training there are so many things to work on that we forget the most fun and pure part of the game, scoring and stopping goals. Field players will work at game speed, under the pressures that the game presents in front of goal; time pressure, opponent pressure, space pressure, and reading openings. Goalkeepers will work with real speed opponents, not just in theory as typical goalkeeper training presents, put with live opponents trying to score goals. As a result the goalkeeper will work under opponent pressure, positional pressure, traffic, and distributing to real teammates. All work will be done under the coaching of KeeperZone Director, Joe Waggoner and SMU Men’s Assistant Coach Brent Erwin.

As many of you know Coach Erwin has moved back to the mens side at SMU and will not be running the girls camp program this summer. One of our close friends Chris Pettrucelli is now coaching the women's team at SMU and is a great coach and will do a wonderful job this summer. Many of you have asked us about the dates for this summer's camps and we will forward all of these inquiries on to Coach Pettrucelli. It has been a pleasure to work with all of the girls the past 5 summers, thank you for trusting us to help make your daughters better soccer players and hopefully provide them with an environment in the summer where they could improve and have fun. Thank you!
We hope you will be able to join us at the KeeperZone Striker and Goalkeeper training program December 15 and 16. It will be a great two days of training for the players, and some excellent time for the parents to get some of the last minute Holiday shopping completed!! You will probably receive a second email regarding this event from KeeperZone as well, but we wanted to reach out to you first.
