Between Season Soul Searching - Team Looking
Solar Stark 02G is looking to fill a few key spots with players who can come in and contribute right away.
Practice in The Colony in winter, and Plano all other times on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:45-7:30PM.
Great group of girls playing possession soccer. PM me if interested in details.

You have to get a competitive release. Can be done but you have to really want it, have valid reasons and a club/coach that will let you go.

The first step is a release to recreational soccer. All that takes is $25 and a form submitted to NTX Soccer. Then, if there is another competitive team which you want to join, you have to submit a letter requesting such to Rhonda at NTX Soccer by January 31st. If your past coach refuses to sign a letter of transfer to the new squad, a hearing is set up before the board and the former coach is notified. If the coach fails to respond within 10 days, your child is automatically granted the transfer. If the coach agrees to a hearing, then you present your case to the board. Your child doesn't have to be present. It was explained to me that if you are moving from one team to another in your same division, then the request is more likely to be denied. However, if your team played in LH and you are requesting transfer to a Plano or Arlington team, (or vice versa) then it will most likely be approved.
So to answer the question, yes, it is possible to change competitive teams midseason, but the request must be made in writing prior to January 31st.

If you can come to terms with your current team/club, you can go straight from one competitive team to another. For my dd, her Coach signed, we took it to NTX, they signed and sent it back to us within a few days. It had a big stamp on it that said "competitive release." Then we just signed with the new club.

So what exactly did you say mommabear to get your coach to agree? You already have my money, so what do you care? Just curious what your approach was.

Had a meeting with Coach and DOC. We didn't feel we could come to a satisfactory resolution. I asked for a full competitive release based on the fact I felt it would be detrimental to my child to continue. DOC cared enough about her happiness and her soccer future to agree. (Or he wanted us to leave...you never know!). Seriously, I think he was sympethic and didn't want her to quit soccer, which is what I felt would happen if we stayed.
