'04 FBR Rankings - 12-11-12 (Final Fall '12 Rankings)

Bwgophers i am curious what year (uwhat) do you start seeing the top teams solidify? I am assuming there is a lot of movement in fbr rankings the first couple of years? To be clear I am trying to understand at what point when you have an fbr rating say in top 5 or so that you can be pretty sure your team will at lest be top 10 come qt?

Honestly, I don't know if you can ever say for certain. There's been instances of top 10 and top 20 teams imploding/merging between the end of U10 Spring season and U11 signing day.

Though if you had to corner me, I would say that fall of U10 is generally when the top 10 starts to solidify at the 80-90% level. I think this is related to moving to 11 v 11 and the quality roster depth that is necessary to be competitive at 11 v 11. It's a lot easier to cover holes in your roster at 9 v 9 or 8 v 8, than it is at 11 v 11, so I think that is when the cream starts to rise to the top, so to speak.

Now, several of the top teams at U10, will have been top teams at U9 and U8 or even earlier, but I think things are still too dynamic to predict with any reasonable certainty until you get the majority playing 11 v 11 at U10.

By the way, your question made me go back and look through my archives, and it's pretty interesting what I found...

For the '01's, here is the "original" BCS ranking that I published back in Oct. 2010 (Fall of U10 for the '01's)...

1) Solar Red Bates - Currently 1st place in LHGCL U12 D1
2) FC Dallas Grubb - Currently 3rd place in LHGCL U12 D1
3) Rowdies May - Now Dallas Texans, Currently 6th place in LHGCL U12 D1
4) Sting Flanagan - Currently 2nd place in LHGCL U12 D1
5) Kicks Gold Martinez - Now Kicks SC, Currently 4th place in LHGCL U12 D1
6) TFC Guzman - Currrently in 5th place in LHGCL U12 D1
7) D'Feeters - Currently in 8th place in LHGCL U12 D1
8 ) Solar Montemayor - Currently in 9th place in LHGCL U12 D1
9) Solar Blue Hollis - Now Dallas Texans Red North, Currently in 10th place in LHGCL U12 D1
10) Solar Red Murin - No longer exists, imploded after U10 Fall Season

For the '02's, I took a hiatus from publishing FBR in the Fall of 2011. Here is my top ten from my initial Spring U10 ranking from Feb. 3, 2012:

1) SRSA Colvin - Currently in 7th place in LHGCL U11 D1
2) FC Dallas Premier - Currently in 1st place in LHGCL U11 D1
3) Dallas Texans South - Currently in 4th place in LHGCL U11 D1
4) Dallas Texans - Currently in 2nd place in LHGCL U11 D1
5) Solar Dynamo - Currently in 3rd place in LHGCL U11 D1
6) Waco Lady Blast - Currently in 15th place in LHGCL U11 D1
7) Solar Chelsea Gio - Currently in 6th place in LHGCL U11 D1
8 ) Polaris - Now FC Dallas South Red, Currently in 9th place in LHGCL U11 D1
9) FC Dallas Renfro - Now FC Dallas Blue, Currently in 12th place in LHGCL U11 D1
10) Fever United Red - Currently in 8th place in LHGCL U11 D1

I guess I must be doing something right, huh???

Interesting stuff.... can you also pick point spreads in the NFL? I have an 02 and 07.....but I will see where my 07 is in the fall of u10 and hold you to that Seriously you should post some of those stats on general thread so no one will question your wisdom and maybe LH will put more weight behind your rankings

Keep an eye on that team ranked 41..... Da East will make a splash in the top 20 after Spring 2013. Maybe top 15.

There are at least 4 teams I've found that have jumped 10 to 15 or more spots

Me too! When DD is in the box and the heat is coming, I often catch myself shadow boxing.

I was like this earlier this season. Felt like I was gonna have cardiac arrest. Started forcing myself to sit, and have started enjoying the game MUCH more. Starting to feel like its my DDs game (like it should be) and not my own (as if it ever was).

Lol...I've tried that a few times. I'm into the game when its going on, the great stride I've made was to leave the game at the field and not bring it pass the parking lot. Just passionate during tho...don't get it confused with loud and obnoxious....too cool for that.

I didn't mention the chain or rope my wife ties me down with

My wife tried that...she has to massage my scalp while I sit on the ground. It works only for the second half though because I finally take a seat at halftime.
