It would have to be to save on the gas from Plano.

Yep, all those Tigers teams in Lake Highlands scares the Ikea monkey out of a club that puts 4-6 teams in LH each year. As for academy, just look at all those Tigers teams in the top twenty for the 03s-06s. But yep, I'm sure things will be soooo different with the 07s onward

LOL! For sure! Great perspective!

1: The thread was hijacked
2: You played a team that didn't win a game in the fall primetime league.... split in 4 parts..
I am sure your Tigers are good, but that isn't the best way to prove it. Should have brought them to The Colony over the weekend to flex their muscle.

Not to mention the light you're shining on each other as coaches arguing about 07 results on a parent forum!! Not exactly professional!

Can we really use that to measure a 07 team? Or any academy team for that matter

Yep wrote:Thanks for the replies and PMs I have received. I will be reaching out to some of you on the PMs later this week. But to get a little back on track- does any parents have any other recommendation for a solid skills/technical focused coach to develop our girls? We are not interested in practicing/playing games with the main focus on winning now. We are looking for a coach that is far more interested in the girls development than current W/L/D records. Again we are looking to stay in the Plano/McKinney/Allen area. Thanks.
Best advice I can offer is to call a few different clubs (LP, Solar, Texans, Sting, etc.) and talk with some coaches... then work to attend a few practices and see how it goes. In the end, most of the larger clubs are going to have good coaches from a skills/technical perpective... but the best coaches at this age are also excellent communicators. And the only way you can tell this is to see them in action with your DD.
Another tip... create an iSoccer (iSoccer.org) account and start to work with your DD at home. No coach needed for this as they have hundreds of videos and your DD will get addicted to wanting to improve her scores if you approach it correctly.
But, no matter what, keep things fun... get her with some friends and play a little 3v3... let them call themselves some funky name and turn them loose with minimal coaching from the parents who usually get all cRaZy, and ruin all the fun, as they attempt to live vicariously though their kid... yes, I've done it too... but am getting a lot better!

Re: Looking for experienced skills focused 07 coach
I agree with above and stay away from club or academy coaches. They have an agenda to recruit and if they feel like you arent going to join or decide you aren't good enough for them, they will quickly stop training you. So you think you find a good coach/trainer, you make a weekly commitment and you see them for about a month or so...next thing you know, they lose interest in the chase..they will start standing you up and before you know they will have a great excuse to why they can't train you anymore.
