Pick up games
Pick up games
Wanted to see what the interest was for pick up games this Spring. Plano/Allen/Richardson area.
3v3 or 4v4. Throw down some cones, pug goals and let them play... basketball courts and mini goals to play futsal, etc...
Just looking to get some fun, unstructured steet style play going on. Maybe pick a different city each week for it, different format each week.
Any thoughts??

Lets hear from you 05s. You dont have to bring your own team, just come out to play. We can mix and match em up. The point is to have fun playing.
Might also make it a rule, no club gear allowed. Ill supply the bibs.

Re: Pick up games
Come at your own risk. These are friendly pick up games. The purpose is to have fun, touches on the ball, and play. No bullies or rough play will be permitted.
I dont really see a problem with this age group or those that have expressed an interest.
Pressure is on me now to line up the first one. Shaping up to be a fun gathering.

it works fine until club coaches find out and tell their players not to go. Clubs are BS!totalsoccer wrote:I hope you plan on being insured, or have a plan to protect yourself. It would be awful for something to happen and being held responsible! Definately something to think about!

Hopefully that coach offers up some free skills sessions or organizes small sided games for that DD in place of what would be done at some pick up games. Doubtful.

If my dd's coach is interested, then he/she will have more girls come and possibly come themselves!

Exactly.
I would like to add the intention is to mix and match, shake it up and let em have fun, but will also do some where you " bring your team" and see which team can keep the pitch.
Its gonna be fun. And from the emails I'm getting for the distribution list it should be a hit.
Now rain stay away and sun warm us up a bit.

Thanks, same to you.

Re: Pick up games
The weather is looking up for this Saturday, high 50's and SUNNY!!
I have had more requests to be on the distribution list for the next event.
Looking at this Saturday @12:45-2:45pm. Woodland Park in Richardson. Plenty of space for small sided fields and/or futsal on the tennis courts.
More bibs were purchased today with the "profit" I turned last night.
Lets keep this one to 05s and 06s everyone.
Going to be fun.
