Brent Irwin, former SMU women's coach and assistant men's coach has been hired as the FC Dallas assistant coach.

That is quite a few big gets in last few months...Waldrum, Webb and now Irwin. Does this mean FCD is looking to put some teeth into their girls side now?

Not sure what the hiring of Irwin does to help the girls side.

Really not trying to be ugly or even argumentative, but show me the success of any of these three before we start heralding them as the salvation of anything more then a happy meal. Kat is good with little bitty ones but as sure as we talk, the team will blow up in a few years; Ben is a club hopper (I think 5 clubs in 3 years) with no track record and no success I can see; Brent, did he really do anything at smu ? It is one of the great smiles of ntx soccer, do nothing, win nothing, but get your name out there and minions will bow and clap as you walk to your new club...until the next time; All I am asking is shouldn't results count for something ?

Brent Irwin was hired by Schellas Hyndman to be on the staff of FC Dallas, not in the youth academy. So, let's hope he has something to offer.

Brent Irwin and Schellas Hyndman coached together at SMU. Hyndman knows him and must feel had can bring something to FC Dallas. Brent has been on the men's side of coaching most of his career.

Brent is for the pro team not the youth. Hyndman is in over his head so I am not sure his college assistant will be of much help. It's not the first former associate he has brought to the club. Hyndman sounds like a guy who likes to surround himself with people that will agree with him. Doesn't like competing ideas
