'04 Girls FBR Rankings - 02-21-13

My apologies for the delay in getting the '04 FBR posted this week. I had to wait for a rush order of a full set of kevlar body armor to be delivered before I could post the rankings this week.

With that said... FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!

O.K. Gophers has officially lost his mind... How the heck does RASE '04 drop to #8 this week???

Two reasons:

1) As stated many times in the past, I do not include games played up against older age group teams, in the current age group ranking calculation. The reason is that I can not get an accurate assessment of the strength of the '03 opponents relative to the '04 teams. Therefore, RASE '04's stellar perfomances against the '03's in recent months, are not included in the '04 FBR calculation.

2) FBR is simply a numbers deal, and when you look at the numbers for RASE '04 in games played against other '04 teams ONLY since last October 21st, RASE '04 is ranked exactly where they should be. Since that time, RASE has played 3 games against '04 teams... #17 Lady Aztecs, #22 Juventus Black, and #56 Solar Chelsea Armstong. Even though RASE has won these games by an average MoV of +8 goals, their strength of schedule has absolutely plummeted. SoS is weighted more than MoV in FBR, so as a result, RASE has dropped significantly. This is compounded by the small # of total games (3) they have played against the '04's.

Now... with all of that said, RASE's '04 ranking situation will rectify itself over the next few weeks. In the coming weeks, RASE '04 will play LP Dalglish, DT Scott (2x), Tx. Spirit, and Solar Kennington in SDL Platinum. RASE '04's SoS will rise sharply, and based on the results of the games against these opponents, they will get slotted at an appropriate ranking (meaning - if RASE runs the table against these opponents, I fully expect FBR to place them back at #1... toss a couple of draws and/or a loss or two into the mix... and RASE won't necessarily be #1, but they will be in the mix with the other top '04 teams, which would be justified if they don't run the table.)

Not sure how it factors into anything, but Odyssey is also playing PTCL G and GSSC is not playing PTCL G.

OMG the rumors are true. RASE is completely falling apart.

This is a great example of how efficient and unbiased FBR is. The program does not show club or add "human" preferences into the calculation. Well done again. Upcoming season will add to the ever changing saga that is Girls 04 soccer.

DT SCOTT should be slot 1. No losses. IMO.

all part of the liverpool conspiracy. If Scott, spirit and kenn take a loss to the lowley ranked RASE and get a big hit in rankings thereby protecting dalglish at the top.

Its all disguised by numbers, figures, and math but we all know BWG is one of the main Liverpool conspirators. This plus no double header for RASE and Dalglish. It's all clear you just have to follow the bread crumbs.

Looks like #44 NTX Strikers 04' Joseph is undefeated as well. Maybe they should be #2 by that logic...

I believe that FC Force and NTX Strikers should be #2 and #3 for the same reason.

What's the difference between Odyssey and Odyssey Blue? I only see Odyssey on the list.

Hello... 1st post here. I'm trying to figure out if Odyssey '04 Blue is the same as Odyssey '04 Noyce. I don't see Odyssey '04 Blue listed in the list.

I apologize if this has already been covered, I'm brand new to the site.

Completely agree!! with those tournament losses at the end of last season and in Jan, one would think a top-10 is even stretching it.

Err, didn't they win an 03 gold division tournament? Show me another 04 team that has done that?

Yes, they are probably the best 04 team. The guy just said that the 03 games don't go into his "formula". To my understanding, these rankings are simply a formula that this guy uses...if you dont like it...make up your own formula

Exactly.

I don't think anybody has any doubt that RASE are number 1 so why get all bent out of shape by math. I seriously doubt that we (LP Barnes) are #5 and by the end of the season we'll drop where we truly are but these have consistently been the best rankings out there so other than a few obvious misplacings that occur until enough games are played, we just need to be grateful for the hard work that goes into them.
