That’s ridiculous! I would have got more jail time than that for kicking his butt if that was my kiddo!

Didn't one of the NTX coaches from a large club just get arrested? Makes you wonder what kind of background checks are done by the clubs.

Is there a specific type of background check you can do that tells if somebody will get arrested in the future? Like Minority Report? If not, short of a state and nationwide check, clubs are under the same trust of the system as schools, etc.

Yea I get it, if the coach has no prior arrests there's no way of predicting the future.
BTW Schools aren't under the trust system. They run checks on SSN numbers for priors, I was wondering if the clubs that endorse their coaches actually do the same?
You could at least check if they're here legally.

They do checks on the rec side of LHSA for all parent coaches and official volunteers. I'm pretty certain you have to supply your SS number on the background check form/authorization? Shouldn't be hard for the clubs. From a strictly business stand point, it doesn't make sense not to run checks. If checks aren't run, all it could take is one predator, ensuing litigation, a decision there is no insurance coverage, and a club could be ruined.

That is a NTSSA rule. All coaches, managers and board members must pass the NTSSA background check. The clubs are no different. To be listed as a coach on a NTSSA roster you need it.
