rules for hard cast

Anyone know the rules for playing with a hard cast on the wrist for north Texas?
I've found a site http://thecastprotector.com/ but don't want to waste my money if she can't play regardless of the protection covering the cast.
She broke it this past Saturday, the Dr said it was minor just a "buckle" fracture, but 4 week's with a hard cast. The Dr said she would be fine to play with the cast just depends on the league rules.

I have an 03 DD that just had the same break. In SDL she played in two games and in one game the other teams coach would not let her play. We just used a bunch of bubble wrap on the cast. Not sure if this would apply to your DD. Good Luck.

Thanks, just heard from 3 different refs, saying that with bubble wrap, most refs will allow her to play. But still each refs discretion.

What you'll find is that its primarily up to the referee. Even if the league expressly authorized the use of casts in a game, an individual referee still has the option of saying its unsafe.
In my experience, wrapping it in bubble wrap and/or foam usually works for the referee.

We played a team this weekend with a girl in a arm cast... Looked like she had some type of protective foam around her cast with an ace bandage. I have always heard it is the ref's descretion.

Wrap the cast in a foam or bubble wrapping. Secure it with tape. Make sure that no cast material is visible.
Have the coach take your DD to the center ref and ask before the game starts. The ref will probably tell her that if she uses the cast as a "battering ram/weapon" she will be red carded immediately...(no warning yellow card will be issued).
I have only had 1 ref tell me that my player could not play with a cast wrapped appropiately....in 20 years....one ref.

Yes, the castprotector is allowed by local refs. DD also had a buckle or Colles' fracture of her wrist and was in a cast for five weeks. Played in HS and LH games. She showed it to the ref before each game and was allowed to play in all games.
Padding is there to protect other players not your own DD! Arm will be sore the first couple weeks per my DD.

Bubble wrap worked well for my DD. As long as she isnt out there throwing it around hitting someone the ref's ussually let them play.
