Well... Let's get a field, some refs and play a couple games in a May or June, PSA LPs vs Primetime LPs . Fowler and Gerrard have played 3 times in 2 months, one went to PKs, other two each decided by 1 goal, each team winning one.

Winning by 10 goals every weekend doesn't sound like it! Gerrard and Keegan had some close games - there are a few teams out here that keep it relatively close, so I'd imagine you'd find some better games in this area, Wolf. You know Gerrard and Fowler, and probably even Solar would much rather play you.
Would you be willing to play SDL in the fall, or is that too far at this age?

Nothing sillier than team homerism at 6 or 7 years old. Academy is for getting better at that age not bragging rights for parents.....

Not sure on the eye roll or silents post.. all I know is the Gerrard/Fowler games have all been great games. 2 different but closely matched teams. My suggestion was get our own(LP) 4 closely matched teams to play outside of a league or tourney for development. Sure winning is nice, but the development is what was in my mind. Winning by ten probably doesn't help that. ..but playing competitive games does...right? Maybe I don't know anything...so I'm done...bash away...

I agree that academy is for development however I also feel that blowing teams out doesn't help with development as much as playing teams that are more closely matched. We are in Duncanville but more than willing to drive up north for some friendlies with our fellow Kopites! Let's do it! Keegan and St. John played a very exciting game that ended up 4-3 in Keegans favor. Keegan has a strong little group!

Driving for a Keller based team of 5 and 6 year olds to Plano every week is a little too much. I'm sure as more groups get established out here, the competition level will increase. If nothing else, the option for them to play up in 06 Silver is always there.

So true! I have been on the boys side the last few years and we are just coming back this direction with my 07. We have recently visited teams and through those conversations and others on this forum- I am kind of surprised how much the 07 coaches are pushing current win/loss records at U6. Maybe we have been away too long or maybe going through this with a few kids- we know enough not to be impressed with U6 records. Actually I am little surprised people post scores out here for 07 or that it would be given any real weight. You just do not see this on the boys forum, but then again there is not near the activity on that forum. I guess things have changed on the girls side.

I do not think there is anything wrong with those wanting to post scores out here. That said- I would agree it is hard to put any real meaning to win/loss records at U6.

Consider that the only language 95% of soccer parents understand is wins, losses and goals scored. They wouldn't know development mileposts if they ran smack into them.

You may well be in the 5%, but a coach just meeting you doesn't know that. Even though they mention record, 1 practice should tell you pretty easily where their actual focus is.

Maybe you are right and if so that is pretty sad. Can't say I agree with you on making a call after 1 practice, My son at one point in his early Academy years had a pretty solid coach who focused on development at practice, but that all flew out the window come match day.

Just curious, is this a pure 07 sting team? If so great job! If not great job either way Odyssey is a good team.
