Last Spot for D1
Last Spot for D1
Feet 24 pts with 2 games left vs. FCD Blue and Waco Blast
Fever 23 pts with 1 game vs Solar Red
FCD South 22 pts with 1 game vs FC Premier
If Feet wins one of its two games its in or if Fever loses and FCD lose or tie their last game.
Fever can get in with a win against Solar Red and need Feet to lose or tie both their last games. Fever can also get in with a tie vs Solar Red and Feet losses in both games because they have head to head tie breaker over Feet.
FCD South can get in with a win and Fever loss and Feet lose both games. FCD South can also get in if they win and Fever loses and Feet loses one game and ties one game
but then it would come down to goal against tie breaker because FCD South and Feet tied their head to head game.

This is not true.
In deciding who earns the bye between teams tied in points, head-to-head is considered - as the one and only tie breaker. If teams are even in their head-to-head play, a playoff game will be scheduled to determine who gets the bye.

An FCD South win will force a playoff game with Feet for last spot.

Pretty good chances that South and Fever will win a lot of games and have a funner year next year. Feet makes it into D1 with the lowest goal differential of the 10 that made it. Goals are gonna be hard to come by. My gut says it is good for a team to have a happy season near the top of a table. We will see how Saints do next year as an example of happy group moving up to the next level.
With a theory like that you may as well take the bottom 5 in D1 and stick them in D2. Outside of the top 2 teams this is how many goals each team scored against the TOP TEN teams.
FCD-Blue, Sting, Andro, Dynamo, and Feet only have a 1 to 2 goal differential when looking at their outcomes playing the top ten.
Texans South- 14 goals
Solar Red- 11 goals
Gio- 10 goals
FCD Blue- 6 goals
Sting- 6 goals
Andro- 5 goals
Dynamo-5 goals
Feet-4 goals
That is obviously not a big difference in goals scored through a full season of play. Each of these teams need a little help on offense.

You can also look at how many wins or ties the bottom four got against teams finishing in the top ten this season:
Sting Rez - 2 wins
FCD Blue - 1 tie
Andro - 1 win and 1 tie
Feet - 2 wins

However, I believe that the overall key is that the Defense of nearly all of the D1 teams improved over the course of the season. My theory is that a teams who will be successful next season will excel in defense during regular play and on set pieces. Here is some anecdotal data to back up the theory:
LHCL ‘01’s in U11 Season (19 Games):
The Top 4 teams gave up < 10 Goals
The D1 Top 10 Scored 390 Goals (as a group)
The D1 Top 10 Gave up 141 Goals
LHCL’01’s U12 Season (19 Games):
Only 1 D1 Team gave up <10 Goals
The D1’s Scored 230 Goals (as a group)
The D1’s Gave up 230 Goals (as a group)
LHCL ’02 U11 Season (19 Games):
The Top 2 teams gave up <10
The D1 Top 10 Scored 403 Goals (as a group)
The D1 Top 10 Gave up 156 Goals
In know that many of the Top teams in their U11 season scored against “lesser” teams. However, in the end the teams who were able to consistently play defense were able to challenge for D1 spots. Fever proved that point this season.

I believe the team's name is Solar Chelsea Gio; or you can ID them as the Top Solar team for LH D1.

Keyser Soze,
No disrespect intended. They are the top team and anyone reading the rankings sees that. Should be proud. Good team. Reference to Gio was simply as they are known in the 02 soccer world and can't imagine it ruffles the feathers of the coach since that's his first or last name as I understand it.
Standing ovation to Solar Chelsea Gio for an outstanding season and showing the 02 soccer world they are indeed the #1 SOLAR 02 girls team. Hard working girls.

I'd like to say that Red is the number one Solar team but I'm afraid they might lose tomorrow vs Solar Stark.
